Major Update On The WWE WrestleMania 24 Set, Pyro, Lights, & More
The Orlando Sentinel has a great article describing the incredible amount of work WWE is doing to transform the Citrus Bowl into the biggest production spectacle in wrestling history.
Here are the highlights:
– There are already 100 people working 16 hour days to construct the production structures for the event.
– WWE is building a steel roof to go over the ring, not only to protect the wrestlers should it rain, but also so it can hang lights and a massive video board. Another steel structure will be built on the north end of the stadium, where the performers will make their entrance onto the field. A large video board will hang from that as well. The steel beams were built in Belgium and are being shipped over. Many of them were custom made.
– We are going to see an insane amount of pyro and fireworks.
– WWE has placed a hard plastic floor over the length of the entire football field so it can support its production structures and floor seating for fans.
Orlando is already pushing to bring back Wrestlemania to the market, perhaps as early as 2012. 2009 will be hosted by Houston, Texas. Phoenix has been pushing hard for Mania in 2010.
