MVP's Character Based Off Real-Life Person?, Simmons, Sid's Return, More

MVP's character is partly based off of a real person. He was a bouncer at a night club and a lot of athletes used to show up. Most of them were cool, but one particular athlete was a total dick and MVP almost had a major incident with him. It was none other than NBA basketball player Stephon Marbury. I know that MVP has mentioned in the past that his gimmick was a take-off based on rich athletes, but I never heard himever mention a specific name before– until now. So now we all know exactly where MVP got the inspiration for his character.

From Adam Lebow: In promoting the fact that Floyd Mayweather is going to be appearing Thursday on TSN's Off the Record in the 'Up Front' segment, Jay Onright plugged the fact during the final moments of TSN Sportscenter that he will be discussing his forthcoming match on Sunday at Wrestlemania 24.

Ron "Faarooq" Simmons is on the ballot for the 2008 class of the College Football hall of fame. Simmons was a defensive star at Florida State from 1977 to 1980.

As reported yesterday, Sid Vicious is returning to the squared circle. He is scheduled to hold a conference call later today to address the media about his future plans. We will keep you informed.
