Y2J To Kick-Off RAW, Maria In NYC Notes, Steph's Job Title Changed, 'Mania, More

A WWE "Wrestlemania Rock" concert featuring Jimmy Hart, Melina, Paul London and others will be taking place at Universal Studios in Orlando as TNA presents their first ever live edition of iMPACT! on 3/27.

Stereo Vision Entertainment, Inc. issued a press release today stating that Hulk Hogan has signed on for one of the leading roles in a new 3D movie titled "Kung Fu U 3D".

Mechanical sent this along: I was recently on the WWE's corporate web site and notice that Stephanie McMahon's job title has been changed. As you know, last year she was promoted from senior VP of creative writing to EVP of creative writing and talent relations. Now is the EVP of creative writing, talent relations, and live events. I thought this was interesting. Seems to me Stephanie is becoming more powerful each passing day. Here is a link to her bio page on the web site. https://corporate.wwe.com/governance/bios/s_mcmahon_levesque.jsp

BloggingStocks.com has an article that explains why WWE's stock is a safe pick in today's volatile economy.

WWE.com has updated the official preview for tonight's RAW. Chris Jericho will kick off the show tonight with The Highlight Reel and he will have a 'huge' guest – the Big Show.

Andrew Davis sent this in: After hearing about all the craziness surrounding Maria signing last week in NYC, me and my friend drove from Bakersfield to Hollywood at 1am Thursday morning (it's an hour and half drive so we arrived at 230am). Was basically the only ones there for hours. Once the Virgin Megastore opened there was maybe 10 people in line for bracelets for the signing that night at 7pm.

Maria showed up approximately 15 mins early, and started signing just under 10 mins early. There was a very decent crowd on hand. I would estimate it somewhere between 400-500 people. I heard a few employees of the store estimate it at somewhere between 350-600 people. So my estimate is sounds about right. Maria was very personable. She signed my picture I got with her at the WWE Biggest Party of the Summer last August in Venice Beach. And my playboy. Each person was allowed two autographs. Either 2 playboys or a playboy and another item. Some like my friend might have been luckily to get three, as long as they weren't expecting a pic too.

We left after somewhere around 830ish for the after party down the street that a local radio station put on. I heard later Maria left the store about 10 mins early saying she was very tired and not feeling well, making some people mad. I don't understand this, she started signing 10 mins early (15 if you count employees of the store), and with 30 mins left in the signing when we finally left the store, I counted 13 people still in line. So everyone should have been able to get her.

As for the after party which was from 930pm-1130pm. It was listed on appearances on WWE.com for 2 weeks, as a free party open to the public being thrown by local radio station power 104 something. I heard one commercial on the station ( I am not from LA so don't normally get that station) saying, Free party at Club Element with WWE Diva and playboy cover girl Maria. I later heard a lot of complaints that the station made it sound like you had to win tickets to the party. I can tell you full heartedly this is false. Me and my friend walked right up off the street and was allowed in. Maria showed up about 5 mins early. Myself, and my friend included I would say somewhere between 5-8 people showed up over the 2 hours at the club. It was us, Maria (her boyfriend Vinnie he called himself, he is a WHITE Vin Diesel. Looks dead like him, but white, very nice guy I chatted with him for a few minutes). She was very approachable. I even offered to buy her a drink, but she stated the club was providing her drinks free. We got to chat with her for a little bit. At the very end of the 2 hours, she signed as many copies of playboys for free to all of us. I think each of us walked out with 10 copies each. She personalized them to us, and anyone else we wanted. I got one for myself as she didn't personalize them at the store earlier. They (her and the WWE pr people also handed out WM 24 T-shirts, and some WWE backpacks. I let the other ladies take the 3 bags for their kids. They wanted all 7 of the shirts too, but the guy said they had enough and gave me one. She posed for pics and was just friendly as usual.

I have met many of the divas, and superstars, and have to say, Maria is definitely the most personable of them all. WWE is very lucky to have her.
