Former WCW announcer Mark Madden has been fired from his job as a radio host for ESPN after he made insensitive remarks about Senator Edward Kennedy. Madden said the following: "I'm very disappointed to hear that Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts is near death because of a brain tumor. I always hoped Senator Kennedy would live long enough to be assassinated. I wonder if he got a card from the Kopechnes." Obviously his comments were in reference to the assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy, and to Kennedy's 1969 car crash in which Mary Jo Kopechne drowned. Madden was fired despite having the highest rated show in his timeslot, as management had warned him in the past about toning down some of his comments.
