Tons Of Backstage RAW News: Regal Fired, New GM, DiBiase, More

  • Ted DiBiase was brought to RAW this week so they can start plugging his new autobiography which comes on June 10th. He was also interviewed for the new Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig DVD.
  • William Regal was 'fired' as part of a storyline on RAW this week for those who missed it. He is no longer general manager. They hinted that Teddy Long may become the new GM of the show. I'd look for Regal to head to ECW or SmackDown! in the near future, likely SmackDown!.
  • William Regal debuted a new t-shirt on RAW. Look for it soon on WWEShop.com.
  • The ECW main event this week will be Shelton Benjamin vs. the undefeated Kofi Kingston. The Kofi push should continue and Shelton will likely add another loss to the record. Shelton laid out Kofi a few weeks back on the show so it's payback time for Kofi. Boy I bet Shelton misses Dusty Rhodes not writing ECW these days.
  • Ric Flair was in attendance at Monday nights San Antonio Spurs vs. New Orleans Hornets NBA finals game. He was shown on camera and broadcaster Marv Albert noted, "Wrestling icon Ric Flair is here.". Thanks to the many who sent that along.
  • We'll see how RAW does ratings-wise with the stiff competition (NBA and NHL playoffs). The American Gladiators rating will be interesting as well and could decide the future of that show on NBC.
