Why Maria Was Sent To SD!, McCool Update, Flair/Indy Show, More
Maria was moved over to SmackDown to help balance things out. She wasn't really needed long-term on Raw anymore due to a potential surplus of babyfaces. SmackDown has three heels in Maryse, Natalya and Victoria, but only two wrestling babyfaces in Cherry and Michelle McCool. Considering that ECW is set to merge with Raw, Kelly Kelly will soon be a part of the Monday night crew, which would leave one less babyface for SmackDown shows. Also, WWE is somewhat limited in what they can do with Cherry, and Eve Torres isn't wrestling quite yet, hence the addition of Maria to SmackDown because they really do need her. On Raw, Candice Michelle is set to come back soon and Melina is now a babyface (her sudden injury kind of puts a wrench in things, but WWE is going through with their original plan to move Maria anyway). They also have Ashley, but her status in WWE remains unclear. It looks like Mickie will be on her own for a few weeks unless Ashley suddenly returns, but with the eventual returns of Candice, Melina & probably Ashley, plus the addition of Kelly to the Monday night crew in September, Maria wasn't really needed anymore.
Michelle McCool posted two new blogs on her WWE Fan Nation account yesterday. In one of her blogs she's asking for suggestions from the fans. "What do you guys want? What do you want to see? What type of "look" do you guys like when I take my pictures? What type of feud would you like to see?," McCool wrote. She also posted some new personal photos of herself.
Ric Flair was scheduled to appear at an NWA-All Star Wrestling indy show in Oakwood, Virginia yesterday, but WWE made the decision to pull him from the appearance. Due to the WWE's decision to pull Ric Flair from the show, the Twin Valley Athletic Boosters and NWA-All Star Wrestling decided to cancel the show altogether. The following message was posted on the official Twin Valley website urging fans to complain to WWE headquarters by calling their phone number: The Great Buchanan Bash has been Cancelled. Due to the WWE's decision to pull Ric Flair from the show, the Twin Valley Athletic Boosters and NWA- All Star Wrestling have agreed to cancel the June 28th show. Ticket holders may return their tickets to the person or place of purchase and receive a FULL REFUND. These refunds will be given out until June 28th. We regretfully apologize for any inconvenience that the cancellation may have caused. We ask that all complaints or comments of displeasure be directed to the WWE headquarters at 203-352-8600.
