iMPACT! Rating Is In, Trigg/TNA Note, NYC Shows, & More

MMAJunkie.com is reporting that MMA fighter Frank Trigg, who has been making appearances for TNA Wrestling for the last few months, has signed a a three-fight deal with the Japanese-based World Victory Road organization. This would mark Trigg's first MMA fight since December of 2007 when he gained a victory over UFC veteran Edwin Dewees at an HDNet Fights event. According to the report, while Trigg's opponent has yet to be determined at this time, WVR wants the fight to take place in Japan. Trigg has reportedly garnered a renewed fan base in Japan and has largely attributed it to his recent appearances for TNA Wrestling this year. He added quote, "TNA has gotten pretty big in Japan, so it got my name back out there."

TNA iMPACT! did a 1.0 rating last week. Ratings were delayed on Friday due to the 4th.

TNA's next run of house show events in New York City are scheduled to be taking place in September. The company is expected to run events in Long Island and Manhattan.

As noted earlier, Scott D'Amore is reportedly on his way out of TNA and will be finishing up at the end of the month. D'Amore has been working with TNA for many years as a backstage agent (more recently with the TNA Knockouts Division) and had worked on camera as the manager of Team Canada before the group was disbanded. The word making the rounds within TNA is that D'Amore is leaving TNA to devote more time to his businesses in Canada and his departure is said to be on good terms, although some believe he had heat with TNA management in recent months. D'Amore operates a sports bar in Windsor, Ontario and heads up the Michigan/Ontario independent promotion Border City Wrestling. He also helped train many current TNA stars including Chris Sabin, Petey Williams, Alex Shelley and others.
