TNA Political Struggle, CMLL/TNA Relationship, Rellik's Release, More
According to some new reports, there appears to be some major political behind-the-scenes struggles going on within TNA Wrestling at the moment. One source is stating that many within the company live and die by the weekly ratings for Impact on Spike TV and with numbers struggling as of late, scapegoats are created. While the current champion of the company often takes too much of the blame if numbers go up or down, many don't see Samoa Joe as world champion as the problem right now Joe has drawn some of the best Pay Per View numbers going up against Kurt Angle (who many felt was the strongest champion in the last few years).
As noted earlier here on the site, Matt Morgan's debut on NBC's "American Gladiators" takes place on July 21. Morgan will be going be working under the name "The Beast" and it is supposed to be presented as a big deal.
Hector Guerrero reportedly acted as the "middle man" in forming the relationship between CMLL and TNA for the current World X Cup tournament. There is hope a long-term deal can be worked out between both companies as TNA is sending talent to the July 25 Arena Mexico event. TNA is said to be interested in getting Mistico and Perro Aguayo Jr. from CMLL.
The release of Rellik (aka Johnny Stamboli) from TNA was due to creative having nothing for him. He was said to be helping to train Joel Anderson from Survivor at one point, but that fell apart as Anderson wanted much more money than TNA was willing to offer. Jonny Fairplay reportedly got the blame for blowing up Anderson's head and encouraging him to ask for a figure TNA obviously wasn't going to come close to.
