Kennedy's Surgery, Austin Comments On Fake Austin, Lots More

For those who missed it earlier because it got buried pretty quick with all the news today, Ken Kennedy is scheduled to have shoulder surgery this Friday. It was reported a few weeks ago that Kennedy hurt his shoulder in a match with Shelton Benjamin. Kennedy had attempted to rehab the injury for two weeks after being diagnosed with a torn labrum and damage to his rotator cuff by Dr. James Andrews. It was determined the rehab wasn't working and he now needs to have surgery, something Dr. Andrews is believed to have suggested. Kennedy will more than likely miss around four to six months.

We reported earlier this month that WWE had changed the date of its Armageddon PPV from December 21 to December 14, falling on the same day as TNA's Turning Point PPV. Since the satellite and cable companies will not allow two events like these to run on the same night, TNA has moved the Turning Point PPV to December 21.

The trial between Konnan and TNA Wrestling will begin on October 26, 2009 according to a report jointly filed with the United States District Court in Texas. The Discovery phase of the case would involve Konnan's allegations against TNA, if and when he waived trademarks and copyrights to LAX, "racial composition" of TNA's workforce, salaries paid to TNA's independent contractors, any disparities between racial and ethnic groups, implementation of any drug policies by TNA, circumstances and cause of of Konnan's alleged kidney failure, the basis of Konnan's claims against TNA under the Dug Dealer Act in Florida, extent of his emotional or mental distress, whether or not Konnan engaged in racially charged conduct or made prior claims of racial discrimination or harassment, TNA's relationship with Panda Energy and the validity of the company's Independent Contractor Agreement. Discovery must be completed by August 29, 2009, while the two sides have been urged to try and mediate their issues before the case goes to trial.
