Coach/ESPN Update, Robbie McAllister/WWE, RAW, More
Ryan Howard sent this in: I was watching ESPN News today, and Jonathan Coachman was talking with former baseball player and current Baseball Tonight commentator John Kruk. They talked about the current MLB wild card races, Brandon Webb, and a few other stories. He did very well, as it was the first time I've seen him since leaving WWE. Coachman said he wasn't used to working Sunday's, as he is usually working on Monday nights. Kruk laughed saying that he could hit Coach in the head with a steel chair to make him feel more comfortable. Coachman then signed off on the show, barely keeping his composure from laughing so hard at the comment.
Luke sent this in: Just wanted to let you know that I was watching ESPNNEWS this afternoon and, lo and behold, one of the sportscasters was Jonathan Coachman. I don't know if it was his first time doing it, as I've never seen him on there before, but let's just say he did come across like he hadn't done it before. While all the other sportscasters I've seen are really comfortable on-air and are very fluid with speaking and everything, Coach seemed a little jittery and he didn't deliver anything with any fluidity. Seemed like every time it was his turn to call a game he'd say two words, like a team name or the name of a player, pause for a second, then say two more words. Very stop-and-go. But, like I said, this may've been his first time out and if they give him enough time doing it he may get all those jitters out of his system.
Dave N. sent this update in: Having checked the schedule again, WWE Unforgiven LIVE has been moved to Sky Sports 3 with a 1am start.
Joe sent this in: On the RAW Superstars Page over on WWE.com I just noticed that "Robbie McAllister"'s profile re-appeared (When he was just released). To make it a little weirder when you go into then profile and click the link to go to Rory's profile it takes you back to Robbie's profile. May just be a glitch but thought it would be worth to pass along.
Roy Sutherland sent this in: I was watching WWE Experience on The Score and I was watching a recap of Batista vs. Kane from Raw. They edited out most chair shots by Kane and Batista to the crowd. They have done this before when Jericho hit Michael's with a chair outside of the ring from the SummerSlam 2008 recap. They don't do this during the original broadcast of Raw and Smackdown.
Eric Mallette sent this in regarding Walter "Killer" Kowalski's passing: TSN reported his passing as well and also "Le Journal de Montreal". Shows the respect he had amongst "real" sports media.
