Triple H's Title Reign Update, No Surrender Sold Out?, Shane McMahon, More
Not sure why considering the rules they issued stating no one gaining a pinfall would be considered a champion in the title histories, but WWE apparently referred to Triple H as a 13-time champion at last night's Unforgiven PPV. The feeling was that the announcers simply made a mistake as the WWE website is listing Triple H as retaining and not winning back the WWE Championship.
Photos of last night's Unforgiven PPV can be seen at WWE.com.
Shane McMahon will have a press conference in Mexico tomorrow to announce WWE's new TV deals that will start in October.
I've actually heard that a bidding war took place last night for the theatrical distribution rights to "The Wrestler." Fox Searchlight won the U.S. rights with a $4 million bid. This movie is generating lots of talk as of late.
Mark Holdsworth sent these notes in: A close friend whom works for the General Motors Centre has informed me that the No Surrender PPV is close to sold out now, with only 800 tickets remaining. The arena holds 5,000 people, although for this PPV configuration it will only allow for 3,500. The General Motors box office believes the remaining tickets will sell the night of the event. While this will not be a record crowd for TNA it should prove to be a great showing for their first time in Canada. The same cannot be said for their show the night before in London, ON. Even though the area is 3/4 closed off (by a curtain), second row tickets still remain. London is a good wrestling town, but due to Oshawa only being 2.5 hours away, I would imagine anyone whom lives in London and is a big wrestling fan, already has tickets for the PPV instead (as these tickets went on sale and were announced before the London show was even an option. It may have made more sense to run a house show a little farther away, as I imagine many of the near sold out crowd are coming from all over Ontario and Quebec.
