Backstage Update On The WWE Creative Team Inside Here
In regards to WWE creative, some massive changes have taken place with the original scripts for Raw and Smackdown in how they air. The writing team normally scripts both shows and finishes on Friday and then presents them to Vince McMahon. At certain times, McMahon will sign off on them, but as of late the finished product is a result of many changes by McMahon. As many know, it doesn't matter who comes up with ideas as McMahon has the final say.
This has also caused some second-guessing to take place on the Raw side among some within the company as the overwhelming opinion is that more time is only being put into the Santino Marella and Charlie Haas characters over anyone else. This has surprised some because while Marella and Haas' segments are usually entertaining, they don't do enough to move ratings and are considered minor characters in the grand scheme of things. This might be why Haas was put in a dark match at this week's Raw taping in Seattle.
This isn't the first time resentment like this has taken place in WWE as many were not in favor of all the attention being put on the Hornswoggle character in 2007 as while he did attract young kids in what is the company's newest desired audience, many of the segments bombed in the ratings and he has transitioned into an entertaining but very minor character on the ECW roster.
