Even More On Sapolsky's ROH Firing, Joe Note, Shaq/WWE, & More News
ROH owner Cary Silkin made the decision to let Gabe Sapolsky go as booker. Sapolsky was told at the ROH show in Edison over the weekend and was said to have been shocked. Things did end on good terms between the two sides. One of the reasons Silkin let Sapolsky go is because the company now thinks that to grow, it will need to focus more on the entertainment side of things and less on the wrestling side. This is the same thing that happened to TNA and will likely piss off the ROH diehard fans. Silkin wants a new direction and feels like the promotion isn't hitting on all cylinders right now. Sapolsky also drove people crazy with his fits from time to time.
As noted earlier, Samoa Joe is set to make his ROH return at the 11/22 ROH Rising Above PPV in Chicago Ridge, IL. Joe will wrestle at the show, but not on the PPV portion.
Former WWF star Special Delivery Jones (Conrad Efraim) passed away on Sunday at the age of 63. He died after suffering a stroke.
Shaquille O'Neal of the Phoenix Suns was in attendance at tonight's Cyber Sunday pay-per-view at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Santino Marella mentioned him during his promo talking about washed athletes up coming to Phoenix to fade away and Shaq was shown on camera to a big pop.
