Khali/Jackass News & Notes, Austin/Rock/HBK, Batista, Edge, & More

Rediff.com reports that The Himachal Pradesh government in India has recommended WWE Superstar The Great Khali for a Padma Shri Award. Khali's name, along with a noted nephrologist in India were sent to the government center last week for consideration. Rediff.com says, "Their names have been recommended for the prestigious awards as they have brought laurels to the state through individual excellence in their respective fields."

Terry sent the following: The MTV Jackass guys have a web-site for them to create and show new/old content. One of the new things they do is a interview show called "One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer" hosted by Johnny Knoxville. This week's guest was The Great Khali. Unfortunately the episode did not last long as The Great Khali got upset over a sensitive question and then walked out. Not sure if it was a set up but either way it is quite funny.

Kim sent the following: CMT has a show called the Top 20 Redneck Moments and last night the #15 moment was "Stone Cold Steve Austin Joins WWF." They showed lots of clips of Austin wrestling The Rock and HBK and talked about Austin 3:16 and the Stunner. One of the commentators noted that how Austin hated his boss, Vince McMahon, is how people across America related with him because everyone hates their boss too. It was a cool little segment. CMT is also heavily promoting Hulk Hogan's new Celebrity Wrestling show.

WWE's latest merchandise releases include a Batista "What You See" t-shirt, a new Superstars Holiday ornament package, an Edge backpack, a Jeff Hardy hoodie, a Rey Mysterio thermal set and several Superstar lanyards.

WWE's Kids Magazine was named one of 2008's hottest launches in min magazine's "21 Most Intriguing Digital Hot List and Top Launches & Reinventions" issue. The magazine comes out in November.
