Lots Of Hulk Hogan News & Notes: Flair, CCW, & More Inside
Hulk Hogan recently did a radio interview up in Rochester, New York and spoke about Ric Flair's retirement. Hogan said that it was a great storyline but he doesn't think we have seen the last of Ric Flair in the ring.
Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling debuted over the weekend on CMT and will be replayed many times throughout the week. In the first episode, 80s pop star Tiffany was eliminated from the competition. Although Tiffany is gone from the series, her and the other competitors eliminated during the season will return for final episode for a six-person tag match for the season finale. For those who noticed that the "CCW Arena" looked very similar to the venue used MTV's Wrestling Society X, both shows actually had the same set designer.
Speaking of CCW, Brutus Beefcake continues to make the media rounds promoting the show. In an interview with About.Com, Beefcake revealed the training conditions were less than ideal: "I'm in the best shape that I've ever been in my life, so the physical wasn't a problem. Although there was some grueling 12, 14, 16 hour days in 100 degree heat in an old, dirty, filthy building. So the conditions weren't exactly ideal for training somebody. They were pretty tough. Teaching the mental aspect, teaching psychology to people that have no idea about wrestling is very difficult."
