TNA's Holiday Schedule, Foley Meets Cheech & Chong, SD!, Lots More

? WWE.com has an article up looking at how WWE fans in Lexington, KY are demanding to see Friday Night Smackdown as the local area broadcasts a weak signal for MyNetworkTV and is not on cable.

? TNA has scheduled iMPACT! TV tapings in Orlando in December for the following dates: 12/8, 12/9, 12/15 and 12/16. I can report that they are scheduling tapings two weeks in a row so they don't have to do any over the holidays.

? According to a recent story on UFC fighter Marcus Davis by Slam Wrestling, his involvement at TNA's Lockdown PPV earlier this year in April where he was the storyline trainer of Samoa Joe for Joe's match with Kurt Angle was a complete fluke. TNA did have an idea in mind to have Joe trained by an MMA fighter – Tito Ortiz was someone they were hoping to get since Joe and Ortiz are from the same area and have known each other for years – but plans didn't work out. How Marcus Davis got involved was pure coincidence. The same day at a gym in Southern California when Spike was filming footage of Samoa Joe training, Davis was doing a photo shoot for "Real Fighter" magazine. The Spike people filming knew Davis and came up with an idea of Davis being involved in the vignettes as his coach. They then filmed an hour of training and Davis talking about Joe. Davis didn't even know Joe. TNA then asked Davis if he was interested in coming to the Lockdown PPV to present the TNA World Title to the winner. Davis did note that Angle came up to him before the show and told him he was going to flip him off and not to worry. Angle reportedly added to Davis that he wasn't going to do anything physical because, in his words, knew he would kill him. Davis said Angle will never do MMA no matter what he says publicly adding quote, "He's just talking about doing MMA. He doesn't actually want to. He told me that he really respected what we do, but that he was too beat up and hurt. He wasn't like, `Yeah, I'm going to do what you do.' He may have talked about fighting against Randy Couture or someone else, but he just talks about it for the publicity." Davis added he would never wrestle saying that pro wrestling is "much more dangerous" than fighting in the UFC. Davis was victorious over Paul Kelly at yesterday's UFC 89 event that aired for free on Spike TV.

? BJ sent the following: Mick Foley appeared this morning the FM side of the Opie and Anthony Show, and he was plugging TNA being live this week from Vegas. It was his usual great appearance on the show, as they are all friends and were busting Mick's chops about leaving WWE and going to some show no one knows about, but the highlight of the morning was at the end of the show. Cheech and Chong were guests towards the end of the show, and Mick stayed around for the interview and at the end of the show Opie asked Cheech and Chong if they had any questions for Mick, and Cheech asked, "who are you?" They then went into a humorous discussion about who Mick was, and both Cheech and Chong said they haven't watched wrestling since the 60's. The Opie and Anthony Show will be replayed today on XM 202 and Sirius 197 at 3:00pm and 7:30pm.
