PRE-SHOW US Title Match: Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. ???
The WWE Universe Picks the Opponent: MVP, R-Truth or Festus. The fans voted for: R-Truth

R-Truth received 59%, Festus received 26% and MVP garnered 15%.

Benjamin successfully defended the U.S. title after hitting a face plant on Truth for the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Shelton Benjamin.

The opening video package for the show ended.

Kane vs. Rey Mysterio
The WWE Universe Picks the Match: Falls Count Anywhere, No Holds Barred or 2 of 3 Falls Match. The fans picked: No Holds Barred

Falls Count Anywhere got 35%, No Holds Barred got 39% and 2 of 3 Falls got 26%.

Both men worked a good big man vs. small man match with Kane dominating the majority of the match. The finish of the match saw Kane block Mysterio's 619 and go for a chokeslam, but Mysterio was able to reverse it and get a hurricarana, then hit the 619 followed by a splash to get the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Rey Mysterio

The divas were shown backstage. Michelle McCool was an army brat, Katie Lea was a vampire and Candice was Marilyn Monroe.

Chris Jericho approached Manu, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase backstage. Jericho told them that he knows what it's like to be disrespected and if they want to reach the next level, they should do to Batista what they did to CM Punk last month. Rhodes said they were too busy.

Theodore Long came out and introduced Matt Hardy to the ring.

ECW Title Match: Matt Hardy (c) vs. ???
The WWE Universe Picks the Opponent: Mark Henry, Evan Bourne or Fit Finlay. The fans voted for: Evan Bourne

Mark Henry got only 6% of the vote, Evan Bourne got 69% and Fit Finlay got 25%.

Bourne had the advantage early on and worked Hardy over with his fast paced offense. The pace slowed whenever Hardy took the advantage. Hardy worked a subtle heel in the match, working over his smaller opponent with power moves.

At one point, Hardy hit two side effects on Bourne, but Bourne was still able to kick out. Hardy climbed to the second rope, but Bourne hit a spinning heel kick to counter.

The finish of the match saw Bourne miss the shooting star press. Hardy then hit a twist of fate to get the win. Good match and the fans were into it, probably more than any ECW match on a PPV that I've seen in a long time.

Winner via pinfall and still ECW Champion: Matt Hardy

A WrestleMania 25 ad aired noting that tickets go on sale a week from Saturday.

More divas were shown in the back with Beth Phoenix dressed up as a gladiator, Jillian was Batgirl, Maria was a bunny and Kelly Kelly was a sailor.

Pick a Tag Team Match
The WWE Universe Picks the Match – World Tag Team Title Match: Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase (c) vs. CM Punk and Kofi Kingston or Cryme Tyme vs. The Miz and John Morrison or Jamie Noble and Mickie James vs. William Regal and Layla. The fans voted for: Cryme Tyme vs. The Miz and John Morrison

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase vs. CM Punk and Kofi Kingston got 35%, Cryme Tyme vs. The Miz and John Morrison got 38% and Jamie Noble and Mickie James vs. William Regal and Layla got 27%.

Cryme Tyme looked good here, working over Miz and Morrison with double team moves. At one point Shad pressed JTG from inside of the ring onto Miz and Morrison on the outside.

The finish saw Morrison hit the midnight ride on Shad Gaspard to get the win.

Winners via pinfall: John Morrison and The Miz

More divas were shown on the back. Tiffany was dressed like a stripper nun, Natalya was dressed like a cop and Eve was a ninja turtle.

Chris Jericho was shown in the back trying to recruit The Great Khali to help him out later tonight. Khali turned him down.

A promo was shown saying that John Cena would be returning at the Survivor Series.

IC Title Match: Santino Marella (c) vs. ???
The WWE Universe Picks the Opponent: Goldust, Roddy Piper or The Honky Tonk Man. The fans voted for The Honky Tonk Man.

Goldust got 31% of the vote, Roddy Piper got 34% and The Honky Tonk Man got 35%.

Marella cut a promo saying that it's fitting that it's fitting that they were in Phoenix since so many athletes go there to die. Amongst the athletes he mentioned included Shaq, who was shown at ringside.

HTM came to the ring, not looking all that different from the last time we say him in the WWE. He was moving pretty slowly to the ring. HTM cut a promo saying he didn't know if Marella was cool or cocky, but he was bad. He said Marella could be IC champion for 10 years, but he still wouldn't compare to HTM. He then had them turn the music on and started dancing. Marella then did some dancing which he pulled off pretty well and then punched Honky and the match was on.

HTM kept his jump suit on for the match. It was a short match that saw HTM get tripped by Beth Phoenix and the referee called for the bell and awarded the match to HTM. Marella chewed Phoenix out after the match and they started to head to the back. Before you knew it, Goldust and Roddy Piper made their way to ringside. Marella went back inside the ring and Piper, Goldust and HTM beat up on Marella including HTM hitting shake, rattle and roll. Sad to see a legend like Piper reduced to this.

Winner via disqualification: The Honky Tonk Man

A promo for the 800th edition of Raw aired.

More divas were shown including Maryese as a french maid, Layla was dressed like Princess Lea, Victoria was a banana (???) and Mickie James was dressed like Tomb Raider.

A promo for the Big Show – Undertaker match was shown and Vickie Guererro came to the stage to announce the results.

The Undertaker vs. The Big Show
The WWE Universe Picks the Match: Last Man Standing, I Quit, or Knockout Match. The fans voted for: Last Man Standing

Last Man Standing received 49% of the vote, I Quit got 42% and the Knockout Match got 9%. I don't see the difference between a Last Man Standing match and a Knockout match.

There was a surprising lack of heat early on for this match after the ring entrances, which seems to be more and more common for Undertaker PPV matches. Big Show kept working Undertaker over with headbutts and body shots.

The match ended up turning into a wild brawl and the crowd got into the match as it went on. At one point both men were outside of the ring and the Big Show got Taker up on the railing and chokeslammed him through one of the announce tables and got a long 9 count. The referee really stalled at 9.

The finish of the match saw the Undertaker go for old school, but the Big Show caught him in mid-air and chokeslammed him and got a 9 count. He then hit a big right on Taker as soon as he got another 9 count. The Big Show then grabeed a chair and clocked Taker with it and went to grab Taker, but Taker grabbed Big Show and got him in the triangle. Big Show tapped, but it didn't count. Taker let go of the hold and both men were out , but Taker was able to get back to his feet before the 10 count.

Winner: The Undertaker

Another promo for WrestleMania 25 aired.

Chris Jericho was shown backstage with Mike Adamle asking Adamle to get rid of the referee stipulation. Adamle turned him down, Jericho looked at his phone and then said it was OK.

Diva's Halloween Costume Contest
The WWE Universe Picks the Winner

Tazz announced that voting was now closed and brought all the divas to the ring. They announced that Mickie James won and then all the divas broke out into a big catfight with the babyface divas clearing the ring of the heel divas.

WWE Title Match: HHH (c) vs. ???
The WWE Universe Picks the Opponent: Jeff Hardy, Vladimir Kozlov or Jeff Hardy AND Vladimir Kozlov. The fans vote for: Jeff Hardy.

Jeff Hardy got 57% of the vote, Vladimir Kozlov got 5% and Jeff Hardy AND Vladimir Kozlov got 38%. Probably not what WWE hoped for.

Hardy and HHH worked their usual solid match. The match went back and forth with Hardy dominating a large portion of the match and having the crowd support.

The finish saw Hardy hit a twist of fate and get a 2 count. He followed it up with a swanton. Instead of going for a pin, he went for another swanton but HHH got his knees up. HHH then went for a pedigree, but Hardy countered and mule kicked the Game outside of the ring. He got HHH back in, went for another swanton but HHH blocked him and hit a pedigree (tried to do it from the top rope but ended bringing Hardy down) to get the three count.

Winner via pinfall and still WWE Champion: Triple H

Another promo for John Cena returning at Survivor Series aired.

World Title Match: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Batista
The WWE Universe Picks the Referee: Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels or Steve Austin. The fans voted for: Steve Austin.

Jericho made his way to the ring and the World title belt was so big around his waist that it looked like Jericho was naked underneath it. Batista came out second, which is unusual to have the challenger come out second.

In the voting, Randy Orton got 4% of the vote, Shawn Michaels got 22% and Steve Austin got 74%.

Austin got a huge pop coming out and the crowd chanted 'Austin' at the start of the match. This brought back memories of Austin refereeing the Goldberg – Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 20 or when he refereed the Umaga – Lashley match at WrestleMania 23.

Jericho walked out of the ring and headed to the back early on. Austin got on the mic and told him that if he gets disqualified (I think he meant counted out), the title would change and Jericho hurried back to the ring.

Surprising lack of heat once the match got going. Jericho had control for the first portion of the match, working over Batista's leg. He got a single leg crab on Batista but Batista made the ropes. Jericho refused to break the hold and Austin grabbed Jericho by the hair and pull him off. Austin proceeded to flip Jericho off.

At one point Batista collided into Austin, knocking him out of the ring. Jericho covered Batista but Austin was out. HBK hit the ring and made a deliberately slow count and Batista kicked out at 2. Batista then hit Jericho with a spear and Batista went for a cover, but JBL came out and pulled HBK out of the ring.

As Austin was getting back to his feet, Orton hit the ring and took Austin out. Jericho nailed Batista and went for a cover, but Batista kicked out at two. Austin got up and hit the stunner on Orton. He went for a stunner on Jericho buy Jericho pushed Austin to the corner. Batista proceeded to nail Jericho with a spinebuster and then the Batista Bomb and Austin made the three count.

Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: Batista

After the match, Austin presented Batista with the belt and the two celebrated Austin style, with a beer bath.
