WWE's Massive Campaign, 'Miss Kitty'/The Kat Is Back?, Lesnar/UFC

World Wrestling Entertainment has done a significant ad campaign in New York City to promote their jump to MyNetworkTV. A large percentage of Manhattan's MTA buses feature a poster on the front of the bus with Triple H and a plug for SmackDown! on "My9", the city's MyNetworkTV affiliate. Also, there are ads running in the subway trains featuring MVP, Umaga, Maria, Triple H and The Undertaker with the tagline "New Home, New Attitude. A reminder to WWE fans in New York City – WWE is hosting a block party on Friday night from 6-10 p.m. The event will be at 1211 Avenue of Americas between 47th and 48th streets. Jeff Hardy, Zack Ryder, and Cody Hawkins are scheduled to appear.

The USA Network retained their place as the #1 rated channel on cable television. MultiChannel.com reports that WWE Raw and the other four original prime time TV series averaged a 2.2 rating during the quarter- a 5 percent increase over last year's third quarter.

Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is featured in the latest issue of ESPN Magazine. The article previews Lesnar's upcoming fight with UFC Heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture on November 15th and talks about the Minnisota native's growing popularity and undeniable drawing power. UFC President Dana White tells ESPN, "We estimate we'll get at least 250,000 buys from fans who've never bought one of our fights before. Brock is a huge new draw."

Former WWE Women's Champion Stacy "Miss Kitty/The Kat" Carter resurfaced over the weekend at the Signamania III wrestling convention in Fairhills, Pennsylvania promoted by Jason Blaustein. This was her first wrestling-related appearance since 2001. She was telling fans she'd be making more appearances in the coming months. She was also telling people about a reality show starring wrestlers in which she is a part of. I saw photos of her at the convention and it took me a few minutes to figure out who she was as she looks rather different compared to her time in WWE. After departing from the wrestling business in 2001, Carter took up real estate. In 2007, Carter applied for a cosmetology license in the town of Cape Coral, Florida. At least during her time in real estate, she e-mailed a few wrestling websites including myself telling me to pull the pictures & profiles of her. After showing up at wrestling convention over the weekend, it looks like she has changed her tuned on the business and is open to working wrestling-related events again.
