RAW Rating Is In, Hulk Hogan To Ref. Reid Flair's Debut Match, More
The November 24th edition of WWE RAW did a 3.3 cable rating, way up from last week's 2.9. The show did hours of 3.19 and 3.39. John Cena's long awaited return to RAW after winning the WWE title at Survivor Series helped the show draw's audience jump 14% this week.
Eric Bischoff sent out an email to people on his mailing list plugging the Celebrity Championship Wrestling website on CMT.com. The email was titled, "Hulk Hogan, Bill Goldberg and YOU vs. Vince McMahon and the WWE", so Bischoff is clearly marking WWE as competition and trying to tap into the disgruntled WWE audience. Speaking of CCW and Goldberg, last week's show drew a 0.2 cable rating for the 8PM primetime airing.
As if Reid Flair's pro wrestling debut wasn't already going to generate some attention, there's been even more star power tossed into the mix. Highppots.com has announced that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan will be the special guest referee for Reid Flair's debut match next month. The match will happen an indy show on December 6th at at Vance Nebulon High School in Charlotte, North Carolia. In the main event, The Nasty Boys (managed by Jimmy Hart) will take on on David and Reid Flair (managed by their father, Ric Flair). Also announced for the 12/6 Charlotte event is the Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton) vs. The Rock N' Roll Express. For ticket information, visit Highspots.com.
SMACKDOWN SPOILER: Gregory Helms made his return at the SD! tapings. Kizarny, Umaga, and Gail Kim all did not appear.
