Rebecca Note, Lena's Firing, Layla Missing?, Ziggler's Return, More
? A blogger/columnist named Jeff at www.8asians.com made some interesting points regarding Internet reports of WWE releasing ECW backstage announcer Lena Yada last week because she looked too similar to the incoming Gail Kim. "WWE has no shortage of white blond women in its Diva Division," he writes. "Prejudice (as some people claim) or just cost cutting?"
? Speaking of former ECW backstage announcers, Rebecca DiPietro has an account on YouTube and there is a number of commercials featuring her, apparently as submissions for contests. In one of the videos, she is seen scarfing down a bag of Doritos. You can see the videos at the https://www.youtube.com/user/rebeccadipietro1979 which actually look professionally shot.
? Conspicuous by her absence last night on Raw was Layla. She did not accompany new WWE Intercontinental Champion William Regal for his match against ECW Champion Matt Hardy and there was absolutely no mention made of her whereabouts on commentary. Layla accompanied Regal the week before in his title win over Santino Marella. Additionally, Layla was nowhere to be seen in "Stephanie McMahon's Raw Superstar Forum" at the start of the broadcast, and practically every active Raw performer was present in the ring.
? Last night's edition of Raw saw Dolph Ziggler make his return to WWE television. He was seen in the ring during "Stephanie McMahon's Raw Superstar Forum," made an appearance backstage while Shawn Michaels and Rey Mysterio made their way out to the ring for their tag match, and was one of the lumberjacks at ringside for the CM Punk vs. Randy Orton match. Ziggler was suspended for 30 days on Friday, October 10 as a result of his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. Ziggler was eligible to return at last week's Raw taping in England, but did not make the trip to Europe. Ziggler made his first wrestling related appearance at last Thursday's Florida Championship Wrestling television taping in a loss to Johnny Curtis. Ziggler also worked a live event over the weekend for FCW.
