Who From TNA Could Be Fired?, More Big Releases Coming?, & More
In recent weeks that has been talk among TNA officials about parting ways with some of the undercard wrestlers not being used. Since September or so, TNA hasn't felt the need to use everyone at every set of tapings, so a lot of talents are going unused. There has been talk on this for a while, but discussions have increased lately. Basically, the reason why TNA hardly ever fires people outright WWE-style is because Jeff Jarrett & Dixie Carter have soft spots and really don't like firing people. So far this year, with the exception of Pat Kenney & Glen Gilberti (although their contracts were up), no one's been outright fired. Everyone that left either left on their own accord, or their contracts were up, or they were on a pay-per-appearance deal and no longer being used. They have yet to fire someone in the middle of a contract (Karen Angle's status with TNA still remains unclear).
As announced on Thursday's iMPACT!, there will be a "Feast Or Fired" match at next month's pay-per-view where 14 TNA wrestlers will battle to get shots at the TNA championships. However, one wrestler will be "fired" from TNA. Last year, there were four briefcases in the corners; one had a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, one had a shot at the TNA X Division Championship, one had a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship and the other contained a pink slip, which Christopher Daniels ended up getting. Names set compete in the match are as follows: The Motor City Machineguns, The Latin American Xchange, Rock N' Rave Infection, "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt, "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams, BG James, Consequences Creed, Curry Man, Cute Kip and Shark Boy.
