UFC 92 Blow-By-Blow Live Main Card Commentary:

Cheick Kongo vs. Mostapha Al-Turk (Heavyweight)

Round one: Kongo opens with a snappy left jab... Al-Turk throws a right kick, Kongo catches it and lands right cross knocking Al-Turk down... Kongo cracks a downed Al-Turk with left and right kicks to the legs.

Al-Turk gets back to his feet and rushes Kongo trying for a takedown... Kongo shows good standup defense... Al-Turk continues to try for the takedown and pushes Kongo up against fence... Kongo peppers him with right hands and then elbows.

Al-Turk fires off a low knee while in a clinch on cage... Mazzagati stops fight and warns Al-Turk for the low blow.

When action continues Turk misses with a wild right. He goes for a single leg takedown... Kongo answers with a low blow of his own... Mazzagati stops action again and warns both fighters.

Kongo is energized. he throws a right behind Al-Turk's right ear. He lands another right to Al-Turk's jaw, knocking him down.

Kongo pounces and unreels an ungodly ground and pound attack... Hammerfist after hammerfist, followed by a vicious barrage of elbows. One elbow opens a large gash on Al-Turk's forehead...

Al-Turk tries to weather the storm, but Kongo reels off elbow after elbow...

Fight is mercifully stopped.

Final result: Kongo by TKO at 4:37 of 1st Rd.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva (Light Heavyweight)

Round one: Rampage comes out looking spry, ready to box with Silva... Silva is cautious and throws a couple of tentative kicks... Silva gets close to Rampage and Rampage goes for a takedown, but Silva stops him with a a short knee to the chest...

Silva is still feeling out his punching range. He snaps a solid rick kick to Rampage's left knee... Another sharp right kick to the same place follows a few moments later.

Silva is starting to measure his kicks. He snaps another low right kick... This time Rampage catches it with his left hand and throws Silva off balance...

The action returns to the middle of the Octagon... Both fighters throw some combos, but nothing lands squarely.

Silva begins to push the action, throwing rights and lefts and Rampage countering... Silva backs Rampage up towards the cage... He throws wild rights and lefts, Rampage ducks and blocks and then release a devastating left cross that lands with thunderous impact on Silva's jaw... Silva drops like a sack of potatoes and the referee jumps in before Silva even hits the canvas...

Silva is out cold from the one punch knockout. Not only will this definitely be the KO of the night, but it could be the KO of the Year...Rampage is howling as the camera cuts to Chuck Liddell in the crowd. Chuck is shaking his head and doesn't look happy... Rampage goes to check on Silva who is just coming to.

Final result: "Rampage" Jackson by KO at 3:21 of the 1st Rd.

C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio (Middleweight)

Round one: Massenzio comes out pursuing Dollaway. He rushes Dollaway, and Dollaway throws a sharp knee to Massenzio's midsection... Massenzio answers with a nice right hand.

Action goes back to middle of the ring. Massenzio again pursues Dollaway... They tangle and as Massenzio pushes off he follows with a right cross that stuns Dollaway... Dollaway goes down... Massenzio follows and grapples with a scrambling Dollaway. Dollaway is on top but still has cobwebs in his head.

Massenzio clamps down with a guillotine choke from his back. It's sunk in deep and Massenzio appears seconds from a submission victory. Dollaway pulls his neck away and squirms with everything he has to try and escape... Finally he squeezes his head out... An act Houdini would have been proud of!

Dollaway wrestles with Massenzio trying to secure top position. Massenzio goes for a triangle choke. Dollaway escapes fairly easily.

Still in top position, Dollaway passes Massenzio's guard. He pulls his leg and gets a full mount on Massenzio... Massenzio rolls and gives up his back— Uh Oh!

Dollaway flattens Massenzio out... Massenzio is in deep trouble... Dollaway waylays him from one ear to the next, throwing rights and lefts... All massenzio can do is cover the back of his head. He is in a defensless position as the referee jumps in and calls the fight.

Final result: CB "The Doberman" Dollaway by TKO at 3:01 of the 1st Rd.

UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (Heavyweight)

Round one: Mir comes out southpaw. He controls round early with low leg kicks and solid right uppercuts... Mir takes Nogueira down with an agressive clinch and a leg trip.

Mir follows Nogueira down and throws some ground and pound before letting Nogueira back up.

More low right inside kicks and incredibly effective right uppercuts to Nog's jaw.

All Nogueira can do is throw an occasional left jab... Mir seems to tire a bit, but stays out of Nogueira's punching range with low kicks and a few right uppercuts.

Mir regains some energy as round winds down. He throws a crisp left hook that nails Nogueira on the button and knocks him down.

Mir follows with a little ground and pound before letting him up again.

The fighters clinch, Mir lands a knee, Nogueira lands a solid combination...

Mir shakes it off and signals that he's not hurt. In final seconds of round Mir throws a beautiful right-left combo that knocks Nogueira down for a second time.

Fightline.com scores it 10-8 for Mir.

Round two: Mir starts with a low inside left kick, which has been working well for him. Nogueira is suddenly looking like an old fighter and does nothing more than toss out his left jab.

SUDDENLY, Mir unleashes a crushing left hook that has Nogueira backing up... He follows with a crushing left cross, Nogueira goes down... Mir jumps on him and wails away with a fierce ground and pound attack.

Referee Herb Dean tries to give Nogueira a chance to recover, but he is almost out as Mir throws punch after punch...

Dean stops fight at 1:54 of the 2nd Rd.

Final result: Frank Mir by TKO at 1:54 of 2nd Rd.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (Light Heavyweight)

Round one: Both come out looking well conditioned... Evans lands a right hand... Griffin counters with good low left kicks... Rest of round is back and forth, with Evans landing hevier punches, but Griffin controlling action with sharp, strong left kicks

Round two: Evans comes out snapping his left jab... Griffin consistently whips low left and right kicks that slows Evans down.

Griffin lands a powerful right hand and follows with a left kick that throws Evans off balance. He rushes in and knees Evans to body.

Evans shakes it off like he's not hurt. Forrest continues to control round with very sharp low left kicks.

Evans responds with a sharp jab and nails Griffin with a a quick right cross near end of the round... They trade combos with Forrest ending round with a solid one-two punch.

Round three: Evans starts with his left jab again. Forrest sticks to his effective low left kicks.

Forrest is growing very confident with his leg kicks and attempts one after another... In the midst of Griffin's constant leg kicks, he lays a right leg kick out a tad too long and Evans catches Griffins foot and throws him to the mat.

Like a snake, Evans pounces on Griffin and starts a barrage of hammer fists, landing with uncanny accuracy.

The onslaught looks bad for the champion, but Griffin is eventually able to grab Evans and hold him close enough to regain his bearings (sort of).

For the next minute, Griffin attempts to catch Evans in a Kimura, and a triangle choke, but he is clearly worn down from Evans' ground and pound and has little success with the holds.

Just when it appears that Griffin might be able to survive the round, Evans postures up on Griffin, who is holding a lazy guard.

Evans leans in and nails Griffin with an atomic right hand. Griffin looks almost out... Evans, without missing a beat, rises into a squat and delivers five or six devastating, unanswered left hands. Referee jumps in and thankfully calls an end to the onslaught.

Final result: Evans by TKO at 2:46 of the 3rd Rd.
