WWE/AWA Lawsuit Finished, Jeff Hardy, Sim Snuka, & More
The Score sent out this statement today: WWE Champion Jeff Hardy added to Sunday's Holiday Bash @ The Score The WWE Holiday Bash @ The Score this Sunday starting at 2:00PM has added two popular names with the addition of Canadian Diva Natalya and new WWE Champion Jeff Hardy. The two will join "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin and Mickie James in a live TV taping featuring interviews and footage of their careers. Following the live taping all four superstars will be available for autographs next door at the Holiday Inn on King starting at 4:00PM. This will be a wristband event and fans are encouraged to arrive at The Score early to get their wristbands and secure their place in line. Hardy and Natalya replace Batista who will no longer be able to attend the WWE Holiday Bash.
WWE's lawsuit against Dale R. Gagner's AWA promotion was officially closed as of 12/18. The Judge was satisfied with Gagner's follow-up to the Summary Judgment against him issued this past October. Gagner filed an official response to the United States District Court of Minnesota on 11/6, stating that he was adhering to the Summary Judgment, recognizing that he and his "partners, associates, agents, representatives, servants, employees, successor and assigns" are permanently enjoined from infringing on "any of the AWA marks" or WWE's rights to them. Gagner also recognized that his version of the AWA are also prohibited and enjoined from registering, using or owning the AWAStars.com and myspace.com/awastars domains. Gagner provided proof that he had transferred the domains to World Wrestling Entertainment's ownership. The URL to the former website is now dead.
The Tribute to the Troops special won't air on NBC tomorrow night in Baltimore as the station will be airing the Cowboys/Ravens game. The show may air overnight though.
WWE.com has already changed Deuce's profile on WWE.com. It now has him going by the new name he announced Monday Night, Sim Snuka.
