2009 TNA PPV In The UK?, Original 'Beautiful People' Plans, Knockouts

>> The TNA website has a headline reading: "TNA To Hold A Pay-Per-View In England?" A secondary headline reads: "COVERAGE OF TNA'S ONGOING TOUR OF THE UK – DIXIE CARTER ANNOUNCES NEGOTIATIONS TO HOLD A LIVE PAY-PER-VIEW IN ENGLAND IN 2009!" No more details are offered.

>> The UK's Daily Star has an article on The Beautiful People. Regarding their original role in TNA, they were originally brought in to fill spots and be the "girls next door," but they were quickly turned into an arrogant heel tandem. "I think we just exploded over the last year. It was our idea to do the Beautiful People tag team thing," Angelina said. "At first the boss wanted us to do the kind of cute girl next door thing, and we tried it, but it wasn't really us."

Both Love and Velvet Sky have paid their dues in wrestling as they worked on the indy circuit for a number of years for little pay. "We are way more than (T&A)," said Angelina. "We started at the bottom, and worked our way up. We worked for little or no pay and slept in parking lots because we couldn't afford the hotels. We drove six hours for a crowd of thirty people and not getting paid." Velvet Sky added: "Both of us had a million injuries and worked a million shows. We don't come from a Hooters background or a Hawaiian Tropic background, we worked our asses off to get where we are now, and that is the massive difference."

>> TNA is selling a set of signed TNA Knockouts photos (The Beautiful People, ODB, Traci Brooks, Roxxi, and SoCal Val) and Knockouts DVD for charity on eBay. Details can be found at TNAWrestling.com.

>> The New Alhambra issued the following statement this evening:

Clients and Patrons of the New Alhambra Sports and Entertainment Center: Today, a story began circulating that there would no longer be professional boxing, wrestling, or other events at the New Alhambra Arena (former ECW Arena). There is NO truth whatsoever to this story. A new boxing promotion is working at the building and had a successful debut show this past Friday night. Professional wrestling and other events (martial arts, concerts, private parties, etc.) WILL CONTINUE to be held in the building. The only thing that will probably be changing at some point is the name of the Arena & the fact that the facility will be going back more to its wrestling roots. There are events listed on the calendar of the Arena's website up through July of this year with more to be added. Thank you for your time and your patronage. We hope you can help us make 2009 one of the best years in the building yet.
