A Sad Day Today, ECW Rating Update, Orton Note, More
I know this isn't wrestling news but for those who have not heard, the 'King Of Pop' Michael Jackson passed away earlier this afternoon. Farrah Fawcett also passed away today. Between these two and Ed McMahon the other day, it's a really sad day.
ECW's rating was actually a 1.05, which was rounded up to a 1.1 yesterday. Unfortunately, the show got no bump in the ratings after the 4.5 Raw posted on Monday.
The reason that the USA Network has been pushing the WWE product hard, with the 3-hour show as well as the commercial free show is because they have been battling TNT to win the second quarter Prime Time ratings battle. Mediaweek has an article up on the battle between the two networks.
Kavan Hashemian sent this in: In the July issue of WWE Magazine, Randy Orton says that he read for role in the The Marine sequel. He said he had the part but then broke his collarbone. He said the producers decided to go with someone else, Ted DiBiase.
