Masters' WWE Return Update, 'Mania Buyrate, & More
According to a chart breakdown issued by WWE yesterday, the company has revealed that this year's WrestleMania 25 PPV drew around 975,000 buys as we noted yesterday here on the website. This is below the one million buys figure that the company had publicly stated was the goal for the show. Although it didn't reach one million buys, the number is still much higher than what many in the wrestling media were predicting going into the show this year.
WWE.com has now added "The Macho Man" Randy Savage to their "WWE Alumni" section. This was likely done in conjunction with the release of the new three-disc DVD set "Macho Madness – The Randy Savage Ultimate Collection."
According to TV Guide Canada's website, The Score will be airing the next 3-hour edition of Monday Night Raw at these times: June 15th – 9:15 PM (ET) with a pre-show at 9 PM (ET), June 16th – 12:15 AM (ET), and June 16th – 5 PM (ET).
As noted yesterday here on the website, Chris Mordetzky, known to wrestling fans as Chris Masters, has signed a deal to return to the company after a two year absence. Masters attended last week's WWE TV tapings in Los Angeles and reportedly had a long talk/meeting with Vince McMahon. He has already started canceling previously planned bookings as of yesterday and told promoters that he would be returning to WWE TV imminently. It should be noted that Masters has been visiting WWE TV tapings in Los Angeles for some time now since his release from the company. Masters' release from the company in November of 2007 was a result of a second WWE Wellness Policy suspension. Many are interested to see if this is a situation that could repeat itself when he makes his return to the company soon. It also remains to be seen how suspensions from previous WWE contracts work or if they were to simply be ignored since it is considered a "new deal" under the terms agreed.
