Backstage Batista Update, Lawler Getting Bad Publicity & More

? Batista was reportedly telling those who asked him at Monday Night Raw in San Jose that he was on schedule with his recovery from tendon tear surgery and was told he would be able to start working out in around four to six weeks. The tentative idea at this point is for Batista to make a return to the ring at Survivor Series in November (which takes place in his hometown of Washington, D.C.), although there was talk of keeping him out as late as January. Batista was said to be down about missing WWE's tour of the Philippines last week since he is part Filipino.

? As noted earlier, Jerry Lawler got some unwanted publicity today that could hurt his bid for Mayor of Memphis. Lawler's son, professional wrestler Brian Christopher, had been arrested back on June 26th for public intoxication. As part of the plea agreement, he was to enter an in-patient treatment center before a hearing that started at 1:30PM today. He was to spend a total of 30-days in that center. He never went into the treatment, so he was taken into custody today and will have to spend the 30-days in jail.
