TNA iMPACT TV Results (8/27) ? Dixie Carter Speaks, Morgan's Feud With MEM Continues
Welcome back to your weekly TNA iMPACT TV Results. This week's episode is entitled ?
"Mind games"
Show opens with Sting and A.J. pulling up to the iMPACT zone and Lauren running up to find out what's going on. Styles says he's got he's gear and is ready to work.
Kip asks if he can park Sting's car and tells Lauren that he used to have a ride like that when he was over. Poor Kip. I guess he wasn't invited to the DX reunion at Summerslam.
Tenay starts out by hyping the Dixie Carter interview with Bobby Lashley. Taz and Daniels join Iron Mike at ringside.
Match 1 ? Suicide vs. Samoa Joe (X-Division Title match)
Match starts with Joe kicking Suicide in the face and hitting him with some close fists. Joe throws Suicide in the corner and continues the pounding. Um, bit of a weight advantage here guys. Suicide jumps out of the way and hits Joe with a drop kick. Suicide gets distracted when D'Angelo Dinero makes his way down the ramp. Samoa Joe tosses Suicide out of the ring, who goes after Dinero. When Joe goes to the outside, Daniels comes to help Suicide. Referee Earl Hebner stops the match and declares that the four will take part in a tag team match later tonight.
Winner: N/A
Lauren is backstage with Eric Young and asks him if he thinks Hernandez will join World Elite. E.Y. doesn't think he will yet, but that he will at some point. Both of them are second class citizens in everyone's eyes. Young continues to blab as we go to our first commercial.
When we come back, World Elite is in the ring and Bashir says he has something serious to talk about, but he's interrupted by a good old U.S.A. chant. Bashir wants to talk about the war in Iraq and says that six years after George Bush proclaimed mission accomplished, innocent men, women and children are still suffering. He says we're all brainwashed by the media.
Now Eric Young wants to talk about Hernandez, who is making his way down to the ring.
Hernandez says that if Young has something to say, he can say it to his face. Young asked how many times Hernandez came down flying the colors of Mexico? Young also says that the people in the audience will never respect Hernandez and to them, he'll always be a foreigner and a common criminal. Young says that because of that, he needs to come home and join World Elite. Hernandez says he is home and that the people in the audience are his family. If Young doesn't like it, don't let the door hit him on the way out.
Lauren is backstage acting like her usual ditzy self, not doing a good job interviewing Sharmell and Traci Brooks who are going up against Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed in the Knockouts tag tournament, coming up after the break.
When we come back, Lauren is still backstage blabbing and the Motor City Machine Guns are being goofy, because they need something to do I guess. Dr. Stevie comes out to convince them to collect the $50,000 bounty on Abyss' head.
So they're going to get beaten down, right? I used to enjoy the Guns, but they have becoming increasingly annoying. Who's with me?
Match 2 ? Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed vs. Traci Brooks and Sharmell
Kong looks like she's ready to eat these two. She starts out in the ring with Traci, who tags Sharmell instantly. Neither of them wants to get in the ring. Kong tags in Saeed and she promptly pushes Sharmell over. Traci gets tagged back in and Raisha proceeds to dominate, but when Saeed gets whipped into the ropes, Sharmell pulls her hair. Saeed tags in Kong and the big girl goes to work. Kong to the top rope and she splashes Traci. Looks like it's over, but Sharmell makes the save. Kong goes towards the corner and Saeed tags herself in to get the pin. Kong doesn't seem happy about it.
Winners: Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed
We've got a recap video of Morgan's timeline with the Main Event Mafia, after which, we see the Blueprint barge into the Mafia's locker room with J.B. to find out why Angle jerked him around last week. Angle says he is inexperienced and that's why he got Morgan to tag with Booker T and Scott Steiner tonight. Morgan says that since Angle has had his back the last few weeks, the Blueprint talked Dixie Carter into letting him be part of a four-way dance for the title at No Surrender and that he's going to have Kurt's back like he's had his.
Match 3 ? Jesse Neal vs. Rhino
This should be a squash match.
Crowd is clearly behind Rhino in this one. Rhino goes to shake Jesse's hand and kicks him right in the gut. Neal's head into the turnbuckle and now a boot to the throat. Rhino is beating him down and yelling at him to get up. I don't think Jesse Neal got anything more than a couple of closed fist shots on Rhino, who hits a spinebuster to finish Jesse off.
Winner: Rhino
After the match, Rhino hits him with a gore for good measure. Because of that, the ref awards the win to Jesse Neal. Devon makes his way to the ring to save Neal and he and Rhino have a stare down.
We're backstage with ODB, Cody Deaner and J.B. and Mick Foley is about to make a decision as to who is the rightful owner of the Knockouts Title. Abyss shows up and Mick gives him a bag of groceries. Deliciously polite of the hardcore legend.
ODB says she's a woman and therefore the rightful owner of the belt. Deaner says he knocked out Mike Tyson and Chuck Norris and for that deserves the belt. Mick decides that they should face each other at No Surrender for the title.
J.B. asks Mick if he's ok since he's been keeping such a low profile. Foley says he has a plan and only time will tell what it is. As we head to the break, Abyss is making his way to the ring, minus the groceries.
When we come back, the Machine Guns are making their way to the ring with Dr. Stevie.
Match 4 ? Motor City Machine Guns vs. Abyss
Handicap match has the Guns double teaming Abyss. They both kick and elbow Abyss and go for a suplex, but Abyss reverses and suplexes both of them. Abyss with a sidewalk slam on Shelly and then Abyss choke slams Sabin onto Shelley. The Guns get a bit of an advantage, but that doesn't last long as Abyss hits the Shock Treatment on Shelly as he drops the leg on Sabin. Nasty move! Dr. Stevie comes in to try and make the save, but Abyss stops him. The Guns try to double team Abyss, but that doesn't work as he hits a boot on Shelley and the Black Hole Slam on Sabin. Pin and win for the monster.
Winner: Abyss
After the match, the Guns attack Dr. Stevie and then applaud Abyss. Music hits and Kevin Nash makes his way onto the entrance ramp as we head to a commercial. Quick turnaround on these breaks tonight.
Upon our return, Nash says that Abyss got into his business at Hard Justice and Big Sexy is going to serve Dr. Stevie the monster's head on a platter for the $50,000.
Lauren is backstage with Daffney to discuss her upcoming match. Daffney says something about killing sheep and wearing their skin or something. Who knows?
Match 5 ? Daffney vs. Hamada (No DQ)
Daffney's got the upper hand with a few kicks and slaps. Hamada responds with some slaps and a forearm shot. Kicks to Daffney in the corner and Hamada tosses her into the ropes. Daffney jumps over the ropes onto the ring apron and Hamada kicks her in the head and onto the floor. Commercial time again.
We're back and Hamada is getting tossed into the corner. Daffney dropping an elbow from the second rope. Hamada gets whipped into the corner and catches Daffney with a boot. Jumping DDT by Hamada and only gets a two-count. These chicks are whooping up on each other. Daffney goes for a chair shot on the outside and misses, but Hamada doesn't. Daffney gets set up on a table outside the ring and Hamada hits a moonsault! Daffney gets thrown back in the ring and gets leveled with a Hamada Driver. Three-count.
Winner: Hamada
We see Velvet Sky and Angelina Love backstage looking for Madison Rayne as we go to commercial. Seriously, tons of commercials tonight. Maybe it's just me.
When we return, Madison says she has a mystery partner and the two of them will be facing the Beautiful People in the first round of the Knockouts tag tournament. Love and Sky attack Madison as J.B. looks on. He's about as useless as Lauren is. All he does is stare with that dopey look on his face with his bug eyes. Mean Gene Okerlund he is not.
Match 6 ? D'Angelo Dinero and Samoa Joe vs. Daniels and Suicide
Suicide and Dinero in the ring and Suicide has the upper hand. He tags in Daniels and they double team the Pope. Daniels off Suicide's back into Dinero in the corner, then a springboard double leg moonsault off the ropes. We're just in time for a commercial.
When we come back, Daniels hits the enzuigiri on Samoa Joe and then hits him with a clothesline. Both men are beat up and get to their corners to tag in. Suicide has a couple of chances to pin Dinero but can't. All four men in the ring. Daniels and Joe head to the outside and in the ring, Suicide gets a roll up on Dinero for the pin and the win.
Winners: Suicide and Daniels
We're back from a break and J.B. is backstage with Dixie Carter and Bobby Lashley. Carter announces that TNA has signed a new three-year deal with Spike and there will be some new programming on the way. Lashley says he's committed to MMA and TNA and Carter is selling how awesome Bobby is. This is totally a stroking session.
Match 7 ? Matt Morgan, Scott Steiner and Booker T vs. Hernandez, A.J. Styles and Sting
Oddly enough, the crowd is popping like crazy for Sting. Who would have thunk?
Sting and Book starting things out. Booker with shots on Stinger in the corner who reverses and gets a hip toss on Book. Sting tags in A.J. and before he can do anything, Scotty gets tagged in. Drop kick by Styles on Steiner and then a knee drop. Styles tags in Hernandez and Steiner tags in Morgan. Hernandez is a big dude, but Morgan is like six inches taller than him. Hernandez goes for a suplex and holds Morgan up for like 15 seconds. Blueprint goes out of the ring and confers with Scotty and Book, but Hernandez hits a suicide dive on all of them as we head to the break.
When we come back, Steiner is trying to choke out Styles. Belly to back by Scotty has A.J. down. Morgan comes in, but Styles is able to get to the corner to tag in Hernandez. Super Mex starts cleaning house, but when he goes for the pin on Morgan, Scotty makes the save. Steiner hits Morgan with a chair and A.J. hits a springboard flying cross body on Morgan and gets the pin.
Winners: Styles, Hernandez and Sting
After the match, Book and Scotty give Morgan an earful, but he isn't having it as he knocks them both out. We fade to black.
Lots of action tonight, but only half of it really intrigued me. I am looking forward to where the Suicide/Dinero storyline is going, but the Morgan/Mafia storyline is starting to repeat itself a little. Why doesn't TNA stop putting him in matches with Mafia members? We know he isn't joining and that he's going after Angle. We'll see what happens next week!
