Trish Stratus Note, 'WWE Legend' Returning, Time Warner-FOX Issue Resolved, ECW, More
– Trish Stratus' Toronto based yoga studio is holding a fundraiser in order to raise awareness and funds for an organization by the name of Carmelina's Home, which is a holistic program in the treatment and recovery of addictions, substance abuse and/or emotional issues for woman. It receives no government funding and therefore relies 100% on donations. For all donations of $30 or more, the multi-time WWE Women's Champion will personally send you an autographed picture. Furthermore, anyone who donates a minimum of $10 will be entered into a drawing for a vintage ring worn item from her "closet of costume." Stratus wrote the following: "And anyone who donates a minimum of $10, I will enter your name into a draw and at the beginning of 2010; I will 'flip out' and draw a name. That is, I'll do a flip video of me pulling the name and the winner will get an item from my closet... I will go deep into the closet of costume and randomly pull an actual worn item, I will sign it, take a pic with it and pop that in the mail for you, how does that sound? And, how about this ? if you donate $50 you get 2 entries, and $100 gets you 3 entries, etc. Oh, I love these reindeer games!"
Visit her MySpace page (www.myspace.com/trishstratus) for more information. Donations are being accepted through Sunday, January 31, 2010, which is when she'll hold the drawing.

WWE Legend Young Stallion Jim Powers Returns to Wrestling: Jim joins Independent Wrestling Federation Roster & School Staff
Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) Legend "Young Stallion" Jim Powers returns to professional wrestling as he joins the Independent Wrestling Federation live event roster, and IWF Wrestling School training staff. Powers makes his ring return at IWF Winter Warfare Weekend live events on Friday, January 22 at 8:00 pm, teaming with Kevin Knight to battle IWF Tag Team Champions "Bruising Bookworm" Frank Scoleri and "German Menace" Kraig Stagg.
On Saturday, January 23 at 7:30 pm, Powers teams with IWF American Champion "Latin Lover" Chachi to face IWF Heavyweight Champion "Hi-Definition" Chris Steeler and Damian Adams. Both events take place at IWF Centre, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ. For tickets or more information, visit www.WrestlingIWF.com. Powers also serves as guest instructor at IWF Pro Wrestling School in West Paterson.
Established in 1999, the school trains hundreds of prospects from 20 states and nine countries that compete in bouts across the world. The famous facility is recognized as the premiere training school in the Northeast by countless television and news media outlets.
"I've traveled all over the world countless times. I've been in every gymnasium and wrestling school...I've been everywhere. But now, I find the IWF and their training facility. Bar none, this is the finest training facility and wrestling camp that I have ever come across," said Powers. Kevin Knight, a 14-year veteran, leads classes three days a week covering basic holds and high-flying moves. 21 graduates performed on WWE Raw and SmackDown Television and Pay-Per-View events. "I have attached myself to the Independent Wrestling Federation, to this facility, and to Kevin Knight, and I will make sure that we produce nothing but champions!" Powers added.
Powers was brought into WWE in 1984 by Big John Studd. Powers wrestled in WWE for ten years from 1984 to 1994. He is most famous for his Tag Team with Paul Roma called The Young Stallions. The Stallions were featured on every major event from WrestleMania to Survivor Series to Saturday Night's Main Event. The Stallions battled every team from The Hart Foundation to Demolition. In later years as a singles competitor, Jim faced off against the likes of Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Jake "The Shake" Roberts. Jim then wrestled in WCW from 1995 to 1999, and was managed by Theodore R. Long. Jim took to the ring against everyone from Goldberg to the NWO.
"With legends like Jim Powers on board, wrestlers excel in our program and receive WWE tryout opportunities as a result of our first-rate training regimen, coupled with our friendly and safe environment," said Knight. "Top graduates literally circle the globe, traveling to Canada, Puerto Rico and Japan."
To supplement the year-round training program, IWF hosts clinics with major superstars. Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield, Hall of Famer Tito Santana, legendary Honky Tonk Man, and WWE Developmental Trainer Tom Prichard serve as guest instructors. IWF School open to students ages 16 and up, and Youth Clinics are hosted each July, August and December for kids ages 12 to 17. Future students interested in visiting the school can attend an upcoming live event. For information, visit www.WrestlingIWF.com.
