"Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event?"
-Live from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN
-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler
-New World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho comes out to open the show. Jericho proclaims proudly that he's going to Wrestlemania. He says ever since he was unfairly attacked by Mike Tyson a month ago he vowed to never returned to Raw despite being the face of the WWE and most valuable performer in the country. He changed his mind because last night he defeated five of the top superstars including the Undertaker, and has now beaten Taker twice in a row. He asks how many people can claim that, and says he can because he did. He repeats that he's the World Heavyweight Champion, and that he's going to Wrestlemania. Edge predictably interrupts, but instead of coming through the aisle he comes through the crowd and delivers a spear. Edge wastes no time announcing what we already knew. Jericho is indeed going to Wrestlemania, and he will be facing Edge.
-Lawler and Cole start to set up the show, but they are interrupted by an angry John Cena who heads to the ring selling a bit of the hell he went through last night. Cena says he can be added to the list of people who Vince McMahon has screwed. He says after Elimination Chamber he was the WWE Champion, but instead of celebrating he's mad as hell because of Vince McMahon. He says that's how Vince McMahon wants to business, and that's fine because he'll do business that way too. He says he gets a rematch, and he wants it right now. Vince struts out, and says the key word is business. He says he's all about business, and admits he made a business deal with Batista. He says doesn't want to soil his hands on a broken down has been like Bret Hart. He says Dave helped him out, and Vince helped him out and now Bret is resting his injured ankle up in Canada. In exchange for Batista's help Vince gave him a WWE Title match whenever he wanted. Vince says it's not personal its just business, and says this is Cena's fault. Cena told Batista if he wanted some to come get some, and Dave went and got him some. Cena says Vince hired a mercenary to take the WWE Title, but Cena is taking the thing back. Vince says that's in his dreams, because Batista won't defend the title until Wrestlemania. Vince says Cena is not the only one who has a rematch clause, because Sheamus also deserves a shot. Vince says he's going to put Cena in a match, and if Cena wins then he will face Batista for the WWE Title. If Cena loses then Sheamus goes to Wrestlemania to face Batista, and Cena can watch from the skybox. Cena pleads with Vince to tell him who the opponent is, and Vince responds that it will be Batista.
WWE Diva's Championship Tournament Finals: Maryse vs. Gail Kim
Gail rolls up Maryse for two, but Maryse responds by whipping her to the corner. Gail heads to the apron, and the comes inside with a clothesline for two. Gail delivers a European uppercut, and delivers a running shoulderblock in the corner. Gail goes for Eat Defeat, but Maryse blocks it by grabbing the rope and delivers a kick to the face for two. Maryse goes for the French kiss which is blocked into a rollup by Gail for two. Gail heads to the top rope for a crossbody, but Maryse moves out of the way and now both girls are down. Maryse goes for the French Kiss, but again Gail counters into a small package for two. Gail delivers a back elbow, and goes for a victory roll. Maryse counters the victory roll and drops Gail across the top rope. This allows her to hit the French Kiss to pick up the victory at 2:49. Folks we waited two months for this classic tournament final.
Winner: NEW WWE Diva's Champion-Maryse (Pinfall-French Kiss DUD)
-Ty Murray hangs out with the Bella Twins, while Jewel (who is on crutches) chats it up with Kelly Kelly and Eve. They hype a diva bull riding competition for later, and Jillian and Alicia Fox shows up. You know the punchline. Jillian tries to sing, and she's terrible. Jillian says if Jewel doesn't show her some respect she's going to send her back to living in her car. Jewel takes the advice of her good friend Sharon Osborne, and smacks her. Wow, just wow.
-Cody tries to explain himself to Orton, and talks about how he meant for the pipe to be used to by Orton. He says he heard Ted talk all week about how he wanted to win. Orton says it's all his fault, because he taught them too well. He says they need to be a team now, and that's why he asked for the six man tonight. They've come too far, and he wants Cody to tell Ted that he's sorry. Dibiase shows up after Orton leaves, and wants to know how it went. Cody says it went well. Almost too well. Ted wants to know if they're sticking to the plan, and Cody responds "absolutely." Intrigue abounds.
Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, & Yoshi Tatsu vs. Legacy & Randy Orton
Dibiase starts the match with Tatsu, and delivers a boot to the mid section. Yoshi delivers a pair of armdrags, and tags in Bourne who comes in with a sliding kick to the face for two. Bourne goes for a suplex, but Dibiase counters into one of his own and tags in Rhodes. Bourne delivers a series of kicks to the hamstrings, and rolls up Rhodes for a one count. Bourne delivers a shoulderblock in the corner, but charges into a back elbow. Bourne comes back with a short clothesline, and heads to the top rope looking for Air Bourne but he is met by Rhodes. Cody delivers an Alabama Slam off the top for a two count as we head to commercial.
We return with Dibiase delivering a rebound clothesline to Bourne for a two count. Bourne fights back with a double knee to the face putting both men down, and that allows the hot tag to Kofi. He delivers a series of chops and a jumping clothesline to DIbiase. Kofi goes for the boom drop, but as Cody distracts the referee Orton pulls him down from the apron. Orton then tags in legally, and delivers a bodyslam. Orton delivers a European uppercut and a kneedrop before grabbing a chinlock. Kofi fights back, but Orton delivers the inverted backbreaker to put a stop to that. Orton looks a Cody and then turns on him delivering the hangman's DDT. Dibiase asks what that's all about, and gets an RKO on the floor before walking out. Meanwhile back inside Yoshi tags in and sets up Rhodes in the corner. He tags in Bourne for the Air Bourne to finish at 9:51. Well they FINALLY pulled the trigger on the Legacy breakup, but appear to be keeping Cody and Ted together for now. Interesting to see how they work the Mania match.
Winners: Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, & Yoshi Tatsu (Bourne pins Rhodes-Air Bourne **1/2)
-Shawn says he's not going to take up a lot of our time, because his explanation is not all that complicated. He said he did what he had to do, and what he needed to do. He says he knows what he's done is not all that popular, but that is something he's willing to live with. He says he's heard the rumors of Undertaker being here tonight, and he knows with every action there is a reaction. He says with the Undertaker he's not just hoping for a reaction, but he's counting on it. Shawn is interrupted by Undertaker's Dong! Taker walks out wearing his throwback Attitude Era jacket, and it should be noted his fire pyro goes off but not until he's halfway down the ramp. No more walking through the flames of hell. Taker says Shawn wanted his attention, and now he has it. Shawn says last year people said they had the greatest match in Wrestlemania history, and some people said they had the greatest match ever. Shawn says as flattering as that is Taker has to understand he wrestled a nearly perfect match, and one mistake cost him everything. He says Taker should know that's one thing he cannot live with. Shawn begged Taker for a rematch, and Taker refused. He ignored him, and didn't leave him any choice but to cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. He says he knows Taker is angry at him, and he knows he can't wait to get his hands on him. Shawn says that's okay, and asks Taker to face him at Wrestlemania to get his revenge. Taker accepts the challenge, but its on one condition. This year Shawn has to put up something as well. Taker says if Shawn defeats him he ends the streak, but if Taker beats Shawn his career is over. Shawn says Taker doesn't get it. If he can't beat him at Wrestlemania then he has no career. Shawn accepts the condition, and that match is set. Well you wanted to know how they could top last year? How's that? Its either a streak breaker or a career breaker.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Christian vs. Carlito
Carlito runs to the ring, and we hear from both guys rookies they will mentor on NXT. Pretty generic promos for the most part. Christian delivers a right hand sending Carlito to the apron, but Carlito answers with a DDT as he falls to the floor. Back inside Carlito buries a pair of shoulderblocks in the corner, and catches Christian charging with a back elbow. Christian comes back with a flapjack, and chokes out Carlito on the second rope. Christian hits a missile dropkick for two, and then delivers a backdrop. Christian goes for a crossbody which misses, but comes right back with an inverted DDT for two. Christian heads to the second rope, but gets caught and pulled off. Carlito hits a swinging neckbreaker for two, and goes for the backstabber. Christian counters into the killswitch, but Carltio pushes out and goes for a springboard back elbow. Christian catches him coming off the ropes going for another killswitch, but again Carlito counters sending Christian to the corner. Carlito comes at Christian, but this time Christian connects with the killswitch for the win at 3:01. About as much awesome as you could pack into three minutes. Carlito looked motivated which is always a good thing.
Winner: Christian (Pinfall-Killswitch **3/4)
-Jewel and Ty Murray come out, and she thinks that this is a very macho sport. So is bull riding so here comes the divas. I usually try really hard not to be "that guy" but this has no business on a wrestling show. Eve comes out and rides the slowest mechanical bull ever successfully. Kelly Kelly is next, and she too is able to manage the bull. Both Bellas are also able to successfully navigate the bull, and thankfully Show-Miz are out to save this crap. Miz says this show revolves around the unified Tag Team Champions, and not a bull riding competition. Show says its not even that hard, and Ty Murray doesn't think Show can do it. That of course leads to Show getting on the bull, and of course getting quickly bucked off. Miz doesn't think that was fair, as it wasn't going that fast when the divas were riding it. The mechanical bull "taunts" the Big Show, and despite Miz's pleas to walk away Show goes over and KO's the bull. Miz calls the guest hosts just another disappointment like the Colts in the Super Bowl and get ready to head out. Jewel and Murray tell them they're not going anywhere as they have to defend the titles next against the Kool-Aid twins. Words can't describe how bad this was. It's pretty bad when Miz can't save a segment.
Unified WWE Tag Team Chamionship: The Big Show & The Miz ? vs. Mark Henry & Montel Vontavious Porter
We see Daniel Bryan taking a closer look at Miz in the locker room. Henry comes out all wrapped up selling his shoulder injury from his collision with the barricade last night. MVP and Miz start things off and MVP hits a backdrop. Miz quickly tags out to Show who gets hit with a series of right hands, and delivers a cheap shot knocking Miz off the apron. Show comes back with a spear and throws MVP into the corner where delivers a series of open handed chops. Show hits a standing legdrop and tags in Miz who delivers a knee to the lower back. Miz locks in a rear chinlock, but hits the ropes running into a big boot from MVP. Both big men tag in, and Henry gets the better of the exchange with a series of headbutts. Henry delivers an avalanche, but he injures his shoulder on the move. Miz comes off the top rope, but gets caught with the World's Strongest Slam. Show is still the legal man however, and he delivers the knockout punch to pick up the win at 2:46. I believe this runs MVP's record against Miz lately to roughly 1-104.
Winners: STILL Unified WWE Tag Team Champions-The Big Show & The Miz (Show pins Henry-KO Punch **)
-Hell has frozen over. Wendi Richter is the newest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. Deserving choice, but as the victim of the original screwjob I never thought I'd see the day.
-Vince has a statement in which he wants to let Bret know that he was really looking forward to facing him at Wrestlemania. He says he was looking forward to the competition, but wants to deny having any responsibility for his actions. He invites Bret back next week, and says he'll have an ambulance to get him to the arena, a wheelchair to get to the ring, and a hydraulic lift to get into the ring. Bret deserves this moment to say a proper farewell.
Batista vs. John Cena
Back from the break and out comes John Cena for the main event. If Cena wins, he gets the WWE Title shot at WrestleMania. If he loses, Sheamus gets the shot. Cena enters the ring and waits a minute or more for Batista to come out. Finally out comes the new WWE Champion Batista for this non-title match.
Batista stalls as he enters the ring. The bell rings and here we go. Cena charges but Batista goes to the ropes and the referee intervenes. Cena charges again but Batista is playing games. Cena gets caught off guard and Batista hits him below the belt. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner by DQ: John Cena
- After the match, Batista mocks Cena as he lay on the mat. Batista runs and kicks Cena in the head. Batista starts stomping away on Cena as the crowd boo's him. Batista hops out of the ring smiling and starts heading up the ramp. He turns around and climbs back in and throws Cena into the ring post. Cena falls out to the floor. Batista comes out and works over Cena, ramming him into the ring post. Batista leaves Cena laying on the floor and walks to the back as the crowd boo's. WWE officials rush over to check on Cena. Batista comes back down the ramp and chases off the trainers. He grabs a steel chair and heads back to Cena. Batista smacks Cena in the back with the chair and just stands over him. Cena tries to get up and Batista hits him with the chair again. Cena tries to get up again but gets hit with the chair one more time. Cena tries to get up yet again but Batista knocks him back to the floor with the chair. Batista starts walking up the ramp with the chair to more heat. WWE officials rush back to Cena as we go to replays. RAW goes off the air with the crowd booing Batista still
