Dwayne Johnson Officially In "Fast & Furious" Sequel With Vin Diesel

The rumored entry of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the Fast & The Furious franchise was confirmed today. According to Collider.com, Johnson will star in Fast Five – the title for the fifth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise – alongside Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson.

"Major shouts to Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, & Dewayne [sic] 'Rock' Johnson!!," Tyrese Gibson wrote on his Twitter, who appeared in the second installment. "'Fast & Furious Five' Let's get em again!!"

Johnson revealed details about the role to MTV last month, noting that his character was "a really unique U.S. Marshal who is hired to hunt and track down Vin Diesel and Paul Walker."

"He's a former bounty hunter," Johnson stated. "He has a unique group of guys who, when the government has issues in trying to track down and find individuals, they call my character."

An official announcement should come soon, and filming for the flick will start this summer in Brazil, Rio, and Puerto Rico amongst other locations. You can watch Johnson's interview about the film with MTV below:
