Former ROH World Champion Tyler Black, 24, claims he was renegotiating with ROH but WWE star Evan Bourne convinced him to sign with WWE. He also said that he turned down an offer from TNA Wrestling.

Black added, "To be honest, and no disrespect meant, but it wasn't a hard decision to make. You have to want to test yourself against the best and WWE is the pinnacle of our industry. They were actually the last to make me an offer. I was renegotiating with ROH and TNA had made an offer, but when WWE came in it was no contest. I understand that I may have to sacrifice a little artistic integrity ? and I don't know if I'll have to change my name ? but I'm so excited about the challenge that lies ahead."

Black also added: "There are a lot of true feelings in my character right now. I really do feel that sometimes fans ought to see the bigger picture. In the Ring of Honor the fans are perhaps the company's biggest asset and the biggest curse. They are passionate, knowledgeable, loyal ? but they don't see that beyond ROH is another world. If I knew exactly what I was doing I'd probably try to keep it from you, but the truth is I don't know. All I know is I will report to Tampa (WWE developmental territory FCW) and go from there. I wouldn't be averse to starting on NXT. I think it's a really great concept. It's a chance to get your character to stand out. I think Colt Cabana was unlucky that NXT wasn't around when he was in WWE, he would have been perfect for it."

Black finished up with ROH last weekend at the Manhattan Center in New York City, dropping the heavyweight title to Roderick Strong. He will report to WWE developmental in Tampa later this week.
