WrestleMania Brings $45 Million To Phoenix, Atlanta Wants Same
Tickets for WrestleMania 27 go on sale November 13th, and Atlanta is hoping for the same success as Phoenix had. WrestleMania 27 pulled in $45.1 million to the Phoenix economy. 63% of the fans that attended were from out of town, and 53% of them stayed in the area more than three nights. John Saboor, senior vice president of special events for World Wrestling Entertainment had the following to say on the event's success?
"We believe that $45.1 million is an exceptional result against a worldwide and domestic economy that is still healing itself."
The Atlanta Business Journal picked up on the success of WrestleMania in Phoenix as well as in Houston, which pulled in $49 million for that economy. The Journal notes that tickets go on sale on the 13th, and hopes that the Atlanta economy will see the same kind of financial windfall.
