Christopher Daniels Talks Returning To ROH, Being Called A "Legend"
ROH's Christopher Daniels stopped by Hit the Ropes last Wednesday night to discuss last Saturday's Final Battle iPPV. It was a short interview as he was on his way to a family event, but he was able to give HTR 15 minutes of his time. Below are some highlights:
On the term "legend" being used for himself and Homicide: "Well, I feel that definitely Ring of Honor certainly means legends in the sense of two guys, or two of the guys, that put a lot into the effort as far as building the company up from the beginning. So I don't think it's a matter of two guys that are past their prime at all. I think it's a matter of two guys who've meant a lot to that company, that are back in the company, and looking for bigger and better things within that company."
On his latest return to ROH: "Well, I was a little trepidatious [sic]. I'd been away from Ring of Honor, at that point I had been away from Ring of Honor for almost 3 years and while I'm well-respected in wrestling, a lot of times it's what have you done for me lately? So knowing that at that point guys like Davey Richards, and Tyler Black, and Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong had sort of become the top guys in that company, for someone returning to Ring of Honor it could have easily been a 'We don't need you' sort of reaction but the truth of the matter is I was very fortunate that the Ring of Honor fans pulled me with high regard. And I think they looked at my return as an opportunity to see fresh matches."
Towards the end of the interview Daniels mentions actors he would have play some of his close friends including Zach Efron to play AJ Styles and Jackie Chan for Samoa Joe. The entire interview can be heard here, starting at the 33 minute mark.
