Meet Sunny Tonight, Punk/TNA, Gunner Note, Surprising Strikeforce Releases & More

– Professional wrestling is coming back to Reading, PA, and the R-Phils are pleased to announce that tonight, Thursday, August 4, the club will hold a special "Tribute to Professional Wrestling" night, thanks to Rock Hits Y102. Headlining the night will be the appearance of WWE Hall-of-Famer Sunny, who will meet and greet fans at FirstEnergy Stadium. She, along with The Blue Meanie, who will also be on-hand for the evening, will throw-out a ceremonial first pitch, and then head over to VIST Finanancial Plaza where they will sign autographs during a special Meet & Greet for fans. Fans can purchase an 8x10 at the ballpark for just $5 to have autographed. Tickets for Thursday's game still remain and fans can call 610-370-BALL, log-on to readingphillies.com, or stop by the brand-new R-Phils ticket office located at FirstEnergy Stadium to purchase tickets.

– After the surprising release of Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem last week, Zuffa (parent company of Strikeforce and UFC) released three of Overeem's teammates, including UFC fighter John Einemo and Marloes Coenen. The release of Coenen is the most shocking, as she just fought this past Saturday, dropping the Strikeforce 135-pound title to Miesha Tate. – Gunner will be at the APW show in Chester, South Carolina on August 12th, 2011. Go to facebook.com/chesterapw for more info.

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Doug for sending this in regards to the CM Punk TNA special: The CM Punk archive content on the TNA On Demand website can only be viewed by making a separate purchase. It is not apart of any of the subscription packages. I have a 1-year subscription to TNA On Demand, and tried to watch it but was unable to watch without being prompted by the website to make a purchase. After contacting their tech support via e-mail (who, to their credit, responded very quickly), I was notified via e-mail, "The CM Punk Special is a special release not available with any other subscription. It is only available by separate purchase."

In case fans are curious, I took a look at the "Terms and Condition of Use" on the TNA On Demand website. In the first paragraph, it does clearly say "TNA may also offer other services from time to time that are governed by different terms and conditions of use." While I was very upset about this whole thing, technically, they aren't doing anything wrong.
