Police Check On Matt Hardy, Respond To His Condition
FayObserver.com has an article about the fake suicide video that Matt Hardy posted on his Youtube account last night. The video, which has since been pulled from YouTube, was all text on a black background and read: "Goodbye world... My time here is almost complete... I only have a few hours and minutes... I loved you all... Regardless of how you felt about me... I'll miss you all... September 23, 1974 – August 31, 2011"
According to the FayObserver, Moore County sheriff's deputies received 25 to 30 calls asking for police to check on Hardy within an hour of the video being posted. Capt. Henry Marion with the sheriff's office said that Hardy was fine when he and another deputy showed up at his home.
"I shook his hand," Marion said, "and he told me everything is fine."
Brother Jeff Hardy's wife, Beth Britt, was upset with Hardy's latest attempt "to work the Internet" as police showed up to her North Carolina residence last night regarding the video.
"When the cops show up to our house at 11 pm, for a 'suicide call' the f–king joke is over @MATTHARDYBRAND. Stop trying to work the Internet," Britt wrote on her Twitter account. "I guess you got what you wanted @MATTHARDYBRAND. Everyone is talking about you, again. But it's not in a good way."
Despite all the tragedies in the business, Hardy apparently feels that suicide is a joking matter. Again, we appreciate all your concerns and calls regarding the video and tweets. Something like that needs to be taken seriously, especially in light of recent events involving Hardy this month.
Hardy was rushed to an emergency room on August 24th after falling down in his home. This happened days after Hardy was arrested for a DWI on Saturday, August 20th in North Carolina.
"I took a breathalyzer immediately on the spot and it read clean, zero, nothing," Hardy wrote on his Youtube channel after the arrest. "Think about peeps! There's more to this story than meets the eye. MATTHEW"
State trooper B.J. Smith indicated that Hardy was not drunk, but "appeared to have taken some type of impairing substance" at the time of his crash and subsequent arrest. Hardy submitted to a blood test, results of which are currently pending. TMZ.com posted Hardy's mugshot, which is at this link, and it is obvious that he was impaired in some form.
"Oh. My. God. By bad luck is NEVER stopping apparently," Hardy proclaimed on his Twitter.
TNA promptly terminated Matt Hardy's contract following the arrest. Matt had already been on suspension, reportedly due to tardiness at live events. He had not appeared for the organization since May 30.
Days later, Hardy went on to post a video spoofing the arrest. In addition to that, Hardy also publicly tweeted a phone number, which apparently doesn't belong to him, asking girlfriend Reby Sky to call it because his cell phone had stopped working after he had dropped it in the hot tub. Reby replied back, telling him to remove the number.
Reby later took to her Twitter to voice her frustrations, stating that she was "Hurt / exasperated / exhausted / furious / tired of being lied to / tired of enablers. Just tired."
"The only reason he's still alive is because of me," she wrote.
This past Friday, Hardy once again took to his Twitter and claimed to be reborn, writing, "I thanks for all the love & support u people, my family, my friends. I am doing what I needed to do-Today is my 'rebirth' Sat 27th, 2011"
"Just read up on Matt and I am absolutely sick," Amy "Lita" Dumas recently wrote, who was romantically linked to Matt Hardy from 2001 to 2005. "Really hoping he can find inner peace."
Hardy is due to appear in court on September 28. Before the accident, Hardy was also cited for reckless driving and is scheduled for another October 11th court date.
