Kevin Nash Speaks Out On Wrestling "Crackhead" Ricky Morton
AWE sent out this interview of Kevin Nash, hyping his upcoming match pitting himself and AWE CEO Marvin Ward against The Rock-n-Roll Express at AWEsome Night of the Legends on October 15th (details):
Kevin Nash remembers. He doubts that Ricky Morton does.
"Maybe 20 years ago, in Pikeville, Kent., I wrestled you. You probably don't remember. You were a star then. Not the crackhead you turned out to be," said Nash, looking straight at the camera, as if Morton were on the other side.
Morton has been calling out Nash for 10 years, blaming "Big Sexy" for Morton's departure from WCW and his banishment to the hinterlands of professional wrestling.
To Nash, it's karma kicking the former NWA World Tag Team Champion right square in the butt.
"There's a saying. Be kind to those you pass on the way up, because there's a real good chance you'll pass them on the way down," Nash said. "I'm still at the top of my game, and have been for over 20 years. You, on the other hand, what have you been doing the past 10 years? Not wrestling. Washing dishes, selling your possessions, being pathetic."
Nash often handles himself as the ultimate cool customer – Big Daddy Cool, right? But obviously Morton has struck a nerve with Diesel.
"You decided to run a tirade on YouTube. You decided to tell everybody that you hate Kevin Nash. Ricky Morton, you don't know Kevin Nash," Nash said. "You might have read something about him – maybe on the ever-so interesting and correct Internet. Maybe you looked me up on Wikipedia and saw the facts – 95 percent of which are wrong."
Nash then went from trying to be cool to letting it all hang out.
"Finally, you'll get closure, and I'll get closure. Because the match that we have on Oct. 15 – while the rest of the world cringes and waits for 12.21.12, 10.15.11 ... you really don't have to worry about anything else, because pretty much, it's all over for you," Nash said.
Nash will be on hand for AWE Night of the Superstars this Saturday to formally sign the contract for the main-event match pitting Nash and AWE CEO Marvin Ward against The Rock-n-Roll Express. You can get more details about Saturday's event by clicking here.
