Report From Mick Foley's Scotland Comedy Show

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Simon Cassidy for sending in this report of Mick Foley's UK stand-up tour debut in Glasgow, Scotland over the weekend.

The show in Highlight Comedy Club Glasgow was a sell-out, the majority of the crowd being wrestling fans.

The night started with Mick doing a meet and greet with the fans, taking time to sign autographs and take photos with practically everyone in attendance, before finally leaving to prepare for the show.

As expected, much of the show was dominated with wrestling based stories and humor, this however is far from a criticism. Foley's ability to control and work a crowd transferred seamlessly from his years of promo work, and while parts of the stand-up routine felt slightly rough and unpolished, it was more than compensated for by the enthusiasm and charisma of "Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy," who had the crowd in the palm of his hand for the duration of the show.

The show concluded with Mick changing from "stand up" to "sit down" to engage the audience in a fifteen minute Q&A session. A period which led to genuinely interesting anecdotes and stories from the Hardcore Legend.

Mick has genuinely created the first ever stand up wrestling comedy show. While on paper this sounds absurd, it is a truly enjoyable experience, and a must for any die hard Foley fan.

The highlight of the show, for anyone who has read Mick's books, came in the fact that he left the building (after changing into a sports jacket and shirt) to go and see Tori Amos perform at The Royal Concert Hall next door.
