WWE Looking To Take Title Off CM Punk Due To Weak Ratings?

According to a report on F4WOnline.com, WWE officials are considering taking the title off of CM Punk due to the low ratings his segments have been drawing on RAW. According to the report, there was talk of having Punk drop the title at last Sunday's TLC pay-per-view, but the idea was ultimately nixed.

As noted earlier this week, this past Monday night's episode of RAW only drew a 2.92 cable rating, making it the third straight week it has been below a 3.0. The overrun with the CM Punk, Daniel Bryan & Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio, The Miz & Dolph Ziggler match gained only 59,000 viewers, which is terrible. Dave Meltzer noted that the gain was almost impossible as people are usually tuning in to the channel at that time for the next show, so wrestling fans must have been tuning out in large numbers.

The main event ended up doing a 2.67 cable rating (2.55 for the first half of the bout), which may be the lowest-rated main event on Raw since 1997 for a non-holiday show in its regular time slot.
