Yes sir, we promised you a great main event...
John Cena's music hits and we're off! Usual mixed reaction for Cena, with more boos than cheers. Cena brings up being on Piper's Pit last week. Cena thanked Piper for being a friend, Hall of Famer and part of the WWE Universe. He noted how all the fans let him know how they feel about him every week, and Piper told him how he felt last week. Cena said he wanted to hear what Piper said, and stated that there was no show without the fans and that every fan has earned the right to let him know how the feel about him. Cena is happy with the boos and the cheers, and noted that he's been dealing with the reactions since he started. He said that what got to him is not the reactions, but with
CM Punk beating Alberto Del Rio, and said that he wanted to face The Rock at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. Alberto Del Rio cuts him off.
Del Rio said that Cena doesn't get a title shot, and that it's for him. Cena noted that Del Rio lost last week and everyone saw it. Del Rio said that CM Punk cheated to beat him, and that he did it on purpose and he should be the new WWE Champion. EXCUSE ME!
Vickie Guererro comes out with Dolph Ziggler. Vickie said that neither of them deserved a title match. Ziggler brought up beating Randy Orton on RAW last week and being the longest reigning WWE Champion in WWE. Cena rips on Ziggler's former gimmicks, and came up with a new monicker: not "Show Off," but replace "Show" with "Jerk." Cena brings up how Ziggler will not face Zack Ryder, and that Ryder deserves a title shot. Ziggler said that he gets the next WWE Championship match. The Miz's music hits.
Miz brings up beating Cena at 'Mania, having a title reign longer than a month and not needing Vickie to get a reaction. He called himself the Superstar of the Year and the next WWE Champion, so if anyone's getting a championship match, it's him.
John Laurinaitis came to the stage and said that he's been falsely accused by CM Punk of being boring and in-creative. He said that Ziggler, Miz and Del Rio will face a Smackdown superstar, and if they win, they will be put in the WWE Championship match at TLC. Laurinaitis said that Cena wasn't in, and he'll be in a special match later tonight called "The Social Experiment." He then said that Miz's match is next and he's facing...
Randy Orton vs. The Miz
Late in the match, Orton nailed Miz with a bodyslam outside of the ring. Wade Barrett came out and, after thinking about it, Orton chased Barrett to the back and got counted out. Orton started to head back to the ring as Miz celebrated, but Barrett nailed him from behind and left him laying. So the Miz is in the WWE Championship match at TLC in two weeks.
An important announcement about WWE Network is up next.
A promo for the WWE Network aired, and said that it was coming in 2012.
Zack Ryder is backstage about John Laurinaitis and is hyped about the WWE Network. Laurinaitis said that Ziggler filed a complaint stating that Ryder shouldn't just get a title shot because he filed a petition. Cena came in dressed like Ryder and did some lame material. Laurinaitis said that Cena should face another popular star and announced Cena vs. Zack Ryder for later tonight. If Ryder wins, he gets a crack at the U.S. title. If Cena wins, he's added to the WWE Championship match at TLC.
David Otunga is backstage and tells Kevin Nash that he'll face Triple H at TLC in a ladder match. Nash said that he doesn't like ladder matches. Otunga announced that there will be a sledgehammer hanging over the ring. Nash was happy with it. Otunga then told Nash that he would be in action tonight and asked Nash if he wanted to know who he would face. Nash said it didn't matter if it wasn't Triple H.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan
Del Rio defeated Bryan clean via submission with an armbar in a short match. And you wonder why guys never get over in WWE.
So its currently CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz for the WWE title at TLC.
Alicia Fox, Eve and Kelly Kelly are shown walking backstage.
A promo for "Tribute to the Troops" aired. The special airs next Tuesday.
A promo for "Pin Up Strong" (Phoenix and Natalya's new name) aired, but the cryptic promo aired during it, with the text "Look within" appearing at the end.
Eve and Kelly Kelly (w/ Alicia Fox) vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya
Kelly and Eve got the win after Kelly pinned Phoenix with a roll up.
John Cena vs. Zack Ryder
Cena defeated Ryder clean after hitting the AA. Ziggler and Vickie are shown watching backstage. After hte match, Cena helped Ryder up and Ryder pushed him off. Ryder is upset. Cena then takes off.
The Slammys are plugged for next week, and Michael Cole is excited. You can vote for "Superstar of the Year" at WWE.com.
John Laurinaitis is talking to David Otunga. Cena barges in and is pissed, and tells Otunga to get out. Cena said that Ryder busted his ass and deserves a title shot. Laurinaitis said that Ryder has one more opportunity, and that is if Cena gives up his WWE Championship opportunity. Cena noted that he's a 10-time champ because he has gotten opportunities while Ryder has never had them. Cena said that he's had opportunities, while Ryder never has and reluctantly agrees to forfeit his title shot at TLC.
Zack Ryder is back in the ring. If he wins this next match, he gets a shot at Dolph Ziggler. It is announced that the match will be a no count-out, no disqualification match.
Zack Ryder vs. Mark Henry
Henry was in control and Cena came down to the ring. Cena hit Henry with the AA and put Ryder on top, allowing Ryder to get the pin and earn a shot at the U.S. Championship. Ryder is ecstatic and shakes Cena's hand at the top of the ramp.
Ziggler is backstage with Vickie and Swagger. Ziggler asks Vickie if Laurinaitis will reverse the decision and Vickie says no, but she knows who Ziggler's opponent is... Sheamus. Ziggler tells Swagger to stay back and heads to the ring.
Kevin Nash heads to the ring with a sledgehammer for his match.
Kevin Nash vs. Santino Marella
Nash defeated Marella quickly after planting him with a jackknife powerbomb. After the match, Nash grabbed the sledgehammer and threatened Marella with it. Marella was scared, and Nash celebrated without ever using it.
CM Punk is shown backstage talking to Evan Bourne.
Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
Ryder came out at the end of the match to distract Ziggler, allowing Sheamus to hit the Brogue kick and get the pin. After the match, Ryder hit Ziggler with Rough Ryder.
The Miz and Alberto Del Rio are in the ring in their suites, and John Laurinaitis is introduced. Laurinaitis announced Mark Henry vs. John Cena for next week and then introduces CM Punk. Punk moves the table away, noting that it's a cliche and that they always end in a pier-six brawl. Laurinaitis announced that the match at TLC will be a triple threat tables, ladders and chairs match. Miz brought up SCF'ing John Morrison last week, and Laurinaitis took a minute to wish Morrison the best in his future endeavors. After some back and forth, Miz and Del Rio agreed that Punk won't leave the PPV with the title.
Punk signed the contract, and Laurinaitis wished them all good luck and asked for a WWE.com photographer to enter the ring and take a picture. Laurinaitis posed with Miz and Del Rio, and Punk noted that it was lame and that if you want anything done right, you have to do it yourself. Punk went on to attack Miz and Del Rio. Ricardo Rodriguez tried to interfere, and Punk got him up for the GTS, only to be kicked in the gut by Del Rio. Del Rio put a beat down on Punk, but Miz stepped in. Punk recovered, hit a bulldog on Del Rio through a table and nailed Miz with the GTS. Laurinaitis walked out onto the stage and stared at Punk while Punk celebrated with the belt as the show went off the air.
