On why Chris Jericho no-showed the press conference: "I know why he no-showed the press conference. Normally, this is where someone would say, 'Oh, he's afraid of me. He's at home washing his tights,' or something. Chris Jericho fancies himself a signer. Chris Jericho fancies himself an author. Chris Jericho thinks he can act. Whereas, I am the best wrestler in the world. So, he had other prior obligations. I think he had something with his voice coach because he is in a very, very, very awful band. He needs to practice to hit high notes."

On the WWE's use of Twitter: "Twitter Madness is out of control. It is madness. It's hash-tag madness. I do think Twitter is a useful tool to help reach our WWE fan base. Do I think we go over board and kill it? Absolutely because that's what we do. We grab a hold of something good and we stamp the life out of it! Hash-tag!"

On his feud with Chris Jericho and Jericho bringing up his family: "I don't think it's a secret, Matt. I'm a little bit of a hot head. Chris Jericho has gotten under my skin. I think it's the first time the WWE Universe has seen me in this position. Normally, I'm care-free and joking. Nobody can really get to me. Chris Jericho's gotten to me but the thing is that it's going to back-fire.

"You see, I have a huge chip on my shoulder. I also have a huge title on my shoulder. Chris Jericho's coming for it. That's the the thing; when you're the champion, you have a huge target on you. Chris Jericho's coming for me, I'm waiting for him. I'm going to ball up my fists, I'm going to punch Chris Jericho in the face, wrap him up in the Anaconda Vice and I'm going to take his mom home with me."
