John Morrison On If He's Welcome Back To WWE, Wrestling His Mentor, More

The Poughkeepsie Journal spoke with John "Morrison" Hennigan, who was promoting his match at Northeast Wrestling's WrestleFest 16 in Poughkeepsie, New York. During the interview, Hennigan revealed that he left WWE on good terms and the door is open for a return.

"The door is open to go back," said Hennigan. "I left on really good terms with everybody and what I wanted to do was take time off to heal, get refreshed and take a little vacation. Shows like this are a fun show and a way to keep sharp. I really like wrestling. That's why I do it. I was working a 250-plus day a year schedule and I wanted to be refreshed. Right before I left, I felt like I was going to work. I wasn't enjoying it as much as when I started. I'm excited to come to Poughkeepsie and do all this stuff. That's the kind of attitude you need to have in sports entertainment."

Hennigan will be facing Fit Finlay at tomorrow's event, whom Hennigan admits is someone that he looks up to. Hennigan called Finlay a mentor from his WWE days when Finlay was a producer, but is still looking forward "to kick his butt."

Northeast Wrestling's WrestleFest 16 takes place tomorrow night, March 23rd at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. In addition to John Morrison vs. Finlay, Velvet Sky vs. Melina, Matt Hardy, Jerry Lawler, Tommy Dreamer and more have been announced for the event.
