Abraham Washington News, WWE HOF'er Talks Life After Wrestling, The Rock & The Hero
- A press release was issued yesterday for the new reality show The Hero that will feature Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The show will rely heavily on social media. The press release touted Rock's social media influence and says that he averages 28,000 new followers/fans per day on Twitter and Facebook. They also noted that The Rock has an unprecedented 11% retweet factor. Rock said the following about the new show:
"The Hero will bridge the digital and physical world on the small screen in an unmatched fashion, enabling fans to determine the fate of the show's contestants entirely through social media and on-screen decision making"
- WWE Hall of Famer Wendi Richter was honored at the Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion in Las Vegas last night. Wendi is out of professional wrestling and working as an occupational therapist, saying she now makes 5 times the money she ever made while wrestling. Wendi talked like she had fun during her wrestling career and was appreciative but had some negative things to say about the business and stressed that there is life after wrestling.
- After scouting Epico, Primo, Big Show, The Great Khali, Drew McIntyre and Mark Henry on WWE TV over the past few weeks, Abraham Washington says the evaluation phase is over and he's ready to get to work. He wrote:
"After traveling half the globe to continue my assessment of #WWE talent, I think the evaluation phase is over. Time to go to work...."
Washington also wrote that he was interested in WWE stars Alex Riley and Derrick Bateman, who he previously managed in FCW.
