Arn Anderson Talks Appearing At Tonight's SmackDown, Send Off On Nitro, Wrestlers Schedules Today
Arn Anderson spoke with The State about tonight's SmackDown taping at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. Anderson is scheduled to be the special enforcer for the dark match main event featuring Sheamus vs. Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship in a steel cage. Triple H is advertised to make a special appearance, and the article noted that John Cena is scheduled to appear as well. Here are some highlights:
His big send off on Nitro in 1997: "The fans gave me a warm send off. They didn't know it was coming, and I didn't even know it coming. That was something I decided on that day. It was time. If the opportunity comes up where I can poke my head out of the curtain, I just want to thank the fans. I don't think I've ever felt anything like the electricity that was in the air that night. Hopefully I can do something nice for them (tonight) to return the favor."
Schedules today as opposed to his era: "Guys work as hard as they ever did, but now it's going off and doing promotional work. When you sit down and look at that on a calendar, it's pretty intense. What they call off days now are travel days and trying to get home as much as you can. The schedule they have now is actually harder than we had."
Tonight's Smackdown: "You have to expect some major announcements with those two (John Cena and Triple H) on the show. I'm glad Columbia is the site for whatever they have planned. We will give the fans the best possible show possible."
