- DurhamRegion.com has an interview with Bobby Roode, who was promoting Saturday's event in Oshawa. Roode spoke about the event occurring exactly 14 years after he broke into the business.
"It's special," Roode admitted. "I was thinking the other day, it's been 14 years since I've been in this business and it's 14 years to the day on the 23rd in Oshawa, so it's kind of funny how things happen, right? My first pro wrestling match was in 1998 on June 23rd and here I am coming back as a world champion, pretty much to my home town, you know 40 minutes from my front door, to defend my world title on the anniversary."
