No Criminal Charges In Ultimate Warrior Fraud Case

TMZ reports that The Ultimate Warrior will not face criminal charges after recently being accused of scamming a sports memorabilia collector out of nearly $40,000.

Christopher Elias claims that he was out nearly $40,000 after he signed a contract to buy Warrior's old gear with autographs for $27,800, and then sent another check for $10,000 for Warrior to sign several belts and posters.

According to Elias, Warrior never sent the merchandise or refunded the money. Elias was planning to file criminal charges, however a representative for the Sante Fe Sheriff Department told TMZ that they couldn't determine if any fraud had taken place after investigating the case, and that the dispute is a civil matter.

Warrior's representative, Stephen Wilton, released the following statement regarding the dispute last week:

Earlier this week, Mr Christopher Elias used TMZ.com and the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department in an apparent effort to gain publicity for himself at the expense of professional wrestling legend The Ultimate Warrior. The matter that has arisen between Warrior and Mr Elias is in relation to a simple contractual dispute, the facts of which will speak for themselves.

Mr Elias's allegations of criminal fraud are completely unfounded, ill-advised and unfortunate. This is a purely civil matter that is in the process of being resolved by our attorney.
