Post-Show Dark Match From Tonight's SD! Tapings: Cena Sings "Happy Birthday" To Laurinaitis, More
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader A. O'Connor for sending in this report from tonight's SmackDown tapings at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN:
The post-show dark match main event at tonight's SmackDown tapings was John Cena vs. The Big Show and Cody Rhodes in a handicap match. Cena came out to a MONSTER pop! John Laurnitis was advertised to be Show's partner, but Cody Rhodes is out in his place. The finish saw Show hit Cody with the WMD after Cena ducked, and then Cena hit the AA on Show.
After the match, John Laurinaitis comes out with a chair and attempts to hit Cena, but Cena grabbed him. Cena gets him up for an AA, but puts him down after Laurinaitis tells Cena that it's his birthday. Cena asks the crowd to sing "Happy Birthday" to Laurinaitis for his 50th birthday. Cena said that he and Johnny have had their differences, but out of respect, he will sing "Happy Birthday."
Cena sings in his "Big Johnny" voice and tells Johnny to have a seat in the ring. Cena tells Johnny he has a gift for him, but tells him that he needs to be blindfolded. Cena brings in Charles Robinson, who covers Johnny's face, and Cena ask the fans to sing "Happy Birthday" to Johnny while he goes to get a cake from under the ring. Cena then smashed the cake in Johnny's face. Johnny grabbed a chair and ran at Cena, but Cena countered and hit him with an AA to send the fans home happy.
