WWE NXT Recap: Final Mahal-Rollins Gold Rush Hype, Kassius, Vader's Son, More

-Byron Saxon tells us that we are one week away from crowning the very first NXT Champion.
Derrick Bateman vs. Antonio Cesaro w/ Aksana
Cesaro gets-in some early offense. Bateman comes back with intensity and connects with a dropkick for 2. Cesaro counters Bateman and drops him across the ropes. Cesaro uses his head for repeated head-butts and hits a suplex for 1. Cesaro retains offense, Bateman fights out of a headlock and hits a flurry of clotheslines. Bateman misses a rush into the corner and Cesaro capitalizes with a suplex and adjusts his neck. Cesaro hits his Gotch-style Neutralizer for the win.
Winner by pin: Antonio Cesaro

Tamina Snuka vs. Sofia Cortez
Cortez stars by mocking Tamina's physique and Tamina grabs her by the hair and goes to work. Cortez quickly counters and lands kicks in the corner. They go back and forth. Tamina punches Cortez straight in the face and hits a flurry of knockdowns. Tamina hits a Superkick but Cortez kicks out. Tamina goes up top and connects with the Splash for the win.
Winner by pin: Tamina
Raquel Diaz comes down and attacks Tamina from behind and draws an "L" on Tamina's forehead with lipstick.

Kassius Ohno vs. Jake Carter
Carter is the son of Vader. Carter lands two consecutive shoulderblocks for two near-falls. They go back and forth trading shots. Ohno lands a big kick to the face from the apron and takes over. Carter avoids a kick and executes a nice suplex and a sidewalk slam for 2. Ohno connects with his Rolling Elbow for the decisive pin.
Winner by pin: Kassius Ohno
Ohno attacks Carter after the bell and puts the boots to him. Richie Steamboat comes out to the rescue and Ohno retreats.

Michael McGillicutty & Johnny Curtis vs. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel
Kidd and McGillicutty begin things off and McGillicutty gets the early upper-hand. Kidd counters with an armdrag and tags Gabriel who resumes the quick armdrags. More quick tags from Kidd and Gabriel.
-We get informed by Byron Saxon that Richie Steamboat has challenged Kassius Ohno to a match.
Gabriel takes out Curtis on the apron which gives McGillicutty the window he needed to hit a clothesline on Gabriel and get 2. McGillicutty takes control with a side headlock on the mat.

Curtis has capitalized on McGillicutty's momentum and they make quick tags on Gabriel. Curtis gets 2. More double teaming and isolating Gabriel. Curtis misses with a corkscrew from up top allowing Gabriel to make the hot-tag to Kidd who comes in like a firecracker on McGillicutty. Kidd gets 2. McGillicutty drop toe-holds Kidd in the corner and tags Curtis for a double team. Gabriel breaks the cover. Kidd fights Curtis off the top but botches his springboard and falls as they both go to the mat. McGillicutty breaks the cover and Gabriel tosses him out. Gabriel comes off the top with the Blockbuster tandem for the win.
Winners by pin: Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel
-We see Kassius Ohno's shadow, shadow-boxing in the back as he is approached for an interview. Ohno says he hurts people and says Steamboat is "on."
Byron Saxon is in the ring and he introduces the competitors in next week's NXT Gold Rush Final: Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal. Byron asks Rollins what this opportunity means to him. He says all he ever wanted to do was hold a WWR Championship so this means everything. He talks about being a kid and being lost but then finding wrestling. He says there is no way he is leaving and not be the NXT Champion.
Mahal is asked the same question and he begins by answering in his native tongue. The he says that Rollins sounded just like all of the fans: "A born loser." He says becoming the 1st NXT Champion is his birthright. He gets "What?" chants. Rollins begins to retort but Mahal hits him with a cheap-shot in the kisser and they scuffle. Rollins tosses him out and hits a plancha splash through the ropes. Rollins celebrates in the ring as refs come out and escort Mahal off.
