WWE SmackDown Recap With Video: New GM, Orton, Bryan, More

-Opening video and pyro

We are in Indianapolis, IN. Lilian Garcia introduces Mr. McMahon. He power-walks to the ring and says they had to find someone with charisma, character, and experience for the GM position. He introduces Booker T to a nice pop. Cole says his prayers have been answered because Booker will no longer be on commentary.

Booker comes to the ring and shakes Vince's hand. Vince leaves and Booker thanks Vince and the Board. He is interrupted by Alberto del Rio.

Del Rio congratulates him. Booker says he has to suck-up better than that. Del Rio starts to talk about Sheamus and how he is a peasant. Sheamus' music hits and he comes to the ring. Sheamus congratulates Booker and they shake. He invites Booker to go drinking after the show. Sheamus cuts a promo on Del Rio and how he isn't going to wrestle until SummerSlam. Booker says that, in fact, both men have singles matches tonight. Del Rio says he will not compete. Booker tells him that all his money doesn't help him hear better. Booker gets in his face and says he's the boss and Del Rio will compete. Booker says he will face Randy Orton. Del Rio leaves, unhappily.

Booker tells Sheamus not to go anywhere because he's up next against this man?Tensai. Sheamus looks amused. They cut to a split-screen pre-recorded promo of Tensai referring to Sheamus and the Brogue Kick, in Japanese. I guess Tensai already knew about the match ahead of time.

Sheamus vs. Tensai

Sheamus takes control but Tensai slaps him. Tensai is a much larger man than Sheamus. Sheamus takes him down with and unloads with punches. Tensai knocks him down but misses with the elbow. Sheamus comes back with knees and a dropkick which sends Tensai to the outside. Sheamus brings him back in but Tensai hits headbutts in the corner. Sheamus comes back with kicks and comes off the top and misses but rolls through. Sheamus clotheslines him over the top. Sheamus comes off the apron but is caught and rammed into the steel post.

Back in the ring, Sheamus tries to come back but is shut down. Tensai gets a 2. Tensai applies a bearhug and continues to work the back and kidneys. Sheamus makes a comeback with elbows but gets a boot to the head with more punches and headbutts. Tensai tries to go up top but Sheamus knocks him off and he goes flying to the floor. Sheamus hits forearms to the chest on the apron and Tensai is bruised-up on his stomach. Sheamus hits a powerslam but gets 2. Tensai hits his chokeslam spinebuster but Sheamus kicks out. Sheamus ducks out of the corner, hits the ropes, and connects with the Brogue Kick for the win.

We go to a shot of Eve's legs. She is sitting in Booker's office and when he arrives she gets up and says she wanted to be the first to congratulate him. She tries to put herself over as a good assistant. Booker says he will let her know, first-hand. Teddy Long shows up and says Booker has earned it. (Teddy used to manage Booker in WCW). Booker offers Teddy a position on his staff. Teddy accepts. Booker tells Eve that all the positions have been filled. She leaves, in disgust.

Antonio Cesaro and Aksana are in the ring. Cole says Booker choosing Teddy is like McCain choosing Palin. Lilian says Cesaro wants to say "hello" in five different languages. He does and Santino's music hits.

Santino vs. Antonio Cesaro

They go back and forth. Santino rolls him up for 2. Cesaro lifts him with ease and slams him for 2. Santino drops a headbutt and pulls out the Cobra and connects but Cesaro's foot is under the rope so the ref can't count the fall. Cesaro rolls out as Santino argues with the ref. Santino goes outside and is rammed into the security wall. Cesaro hits his Gotch-Style Neutralizer in the ring for the win.

Winner by pin: Antonio Cesaro

Matt Striker interviews Daniel Bryan in the back and he sends to a video of Bryan's misadventures as of late. He asks Bryan if he has any comments. Bryan says, 'no.' He says we'll be hearing that from him a lot more often. He doesn't want to hear anyone chanting 'yes' anymore. The crowd starts to chant it and he says only he can say that. Bryan starts to go off, screaming, 'no!'

The lights go out in the arena and Jericho comes to the ring, followed by Christian and Kane.

Miz comes out. Vickie Guerrero comes out and introduces Dolph Ziggler. Daniel Bryan makes his entrance.

Chris Jericho, Christian, & Kane vs. Daniel Bryan, Miz, & Dolph Ziggler

Bryan starts off with intensity against Christian. Christian hits a dropkick off the 2nd turnbuckle and gets 2. Christian tags Kane who comes off the 2nd rope with a clothesline but Bryan gets his shoulder up. Kane sends Bryan in and follows up with a clothesline in the corner; he hits a big boot and gets 2. Bryan tags Miz who comes off the top but is caught with a shot to the face by Kane.

Kane tags Jericho who continues the offense on Miz. Ziggler slaps Jericho in the back of the head from the apron then jumps off in retreat. This allows Miz to get in a big boot to the grill of Jericho. Ziggler gets the tag and Jericho tackles him as soon as he enters. Ziggler ducks out of the ring.

Miz is in control in the ring with Christian. Miz keeps him in their corner and tags Bryan who quickly tags Ziggler. Ziggler drops a big elbow and gets 2. Dropkick and another 2. The tags continue as Miz comes in. Christian gets his boots up in the corner and comes off the ropes with a reverse elbow and makes the hot tag to Jericho as Miz tags Bryan.

Jericho comes in with all cylinders and speeds things up against Bryan. He hits the Lionsault but the pin is broken by Ziggler. All six men get involved and go to the outside, except for the legal men, Jericho and Bryan. Jericho applies the Walls as Vickie comes on the apron to distract the ref. Ziggler comes in and gets a Codebreaker. Bryan rolls up Jericho from behind and gets the win.

Winners by pin: Bryan, Ziggler, & Miz

Bryan starts celebrating with 'yes' but as the crowd starts to chant it, he goes crazy and gets in their faces and chants 'no!'

Backstage, Striker asks Randy Orton how his long layoff has affected him. Orton says WWE is his life and he's happy he's back. He is going to give the fans what the want to see: an RKO to Del Rio.

Ryback vs. Jinder Mahal

They go to a split-screen and Ryback cuts a promo about the laws of the jungle. He says, "Welcome to the food chain. Feed me more." Ryback goes right at Mahal. He hits a belly-to-belly on Mahal. Mahal gets a small advantage but Ryback hits a spinebuster. Ryback ducks out of the ring and as Ryback follows him, Mahal hits him with a mic and escapes up the ramp.

Winner by disqualification: Ryback

Ryback chants, "Feed me more!" in the ring.

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young with AW complain backstage as they see that even Little Jimmy has a T-shirt, but not them.

R-Truth w/ Kofi Kingston vs. Darren Young w/ Titus O'Neil & AW

R-Truth hits intense punches and kicks to start things off and the ref has to call him off. Young hits a scoop powerslam and gets 2. Truth sends him in but Young hangs on to the ropes and pulls them down so Truth goes flying to the outside. AW distracts the ref so Titus can stomp on him. Kofi comes from behind and leaps off the steps with a clothesline to the back of Titus' head and chases AW up the ramp. Truth is distracted by Titus on the outside and is dropped by Young for the win.

-RAW Rebound: CM Punk

Layla congratulates Booker in his office. Cody Rhodes interrupts and says he hopes that ending Booker's career doesn't affect their working relationship. Booker calls him a 'sucka' and Cody tells him not to call him a sucker. Booker says he said, 'sucka.' He makes a match between Cody and Sin Cara for next week. Booker resumes catching up with Layla.

Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio starts off strong but Orton fights back and knocks him down with a clothesline. Orton hits three clotheslines in the corner and a series of punches to the head. Orton hits a back bodydrop. Del Rio counters the DDT in the ropes and kicks Orton off the apron with a kick to the back. Del Rio rams Orton into the security wall and rolls him in the ring for 2. Orton ducks a clothesline and hits a neckbreaker. Orton misses with a knee and Del Rio kicks him in the back again for another 2.

Del Rio whips him in the corner but Orton moves on the follow-through and Del Rio goes shoulder-first into the steel post. Orton rolls him up for 2. Orton hits a couple of clotheslines and a powerslam and the DDT in the ropes. Orton gets coiled but Ricardo Rodriguez comes in and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner by disqualification: Randy Orton

Del Rio takes advantage with the double-knee armbreaker. Orton counters the cross-armbreaker and dropkicks Del Rio off the turnbuckle and to the outside. Del Rio and Ricardo retreat up the ramp but Sheamus runs out and tosses Del Rio back in the ring where Orton hits the RKO to send the crowd home happy.
