WWE SmackDown Recap (With Video): Del Rio's Opponent For SummerSlam Official

-Del Rio/Sheamus recap

Alberto Del Rio comes to the ring with Ricardo Rodriguez. He wants his title match reinstated. He says he isn't leaving till he gets what he wants.

Booker T comes to the ring. He says Del Rio has been a problem for him as GM since day one. He says a man doesn't hire 5 goons and dress them as cops to beat up one man. Del Rio says he earned the #1 contender status and he has spoken to his lawyers.

Y2J's music hits and he comes to join them. He tells Del Rio to "Shut the Hell up!" and cuts a classic Y2J-style promo, berating him. He tells Del Rio his breath smells like dog poop, in Spanish. Y2J says maybe he will take the Del Rio's spot after he defeats Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam and win the title. (Doesn't he know the World Title has been relegated to show-opener status?) Del Rio starts to argue and Booker T says Sheamus will not compete at SummerSlam. Booker says that Del Rio will face Jericho tonight.

Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz & Cody Rhodes

-graphic for Rey vs. Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam

Cody cuts a promo on his way to the ring about Sin Cara's face and mask. He shows a rendition of what Sin Cara looks like unmasked, on the Titantron. It's a cartoon picture of a rat-looking dude with big, messed up teeth. Sin Cara and Mysterio get the early one-up with high-flying off the apron. Miz and Cody isolate Sin Cara with quick tags. Cody tries to go for the mask, Sin Cara counters out of the hammerlock and tags Rey. He speeds things up with Cody. He executes a body-scissors into a bulldog but Miz breaks the cover. Sin Cara comes in and takes Miz out. Cody goes for his mask in the ropes and leaves himself in 619 territory. Then Rey goes up top and hits his splash for the win.

Winners by pin: Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara

Miz tries to attack Rey from behind with the Intercontinental belt but Rey ducks and hits him with a 619 and raises the belt over his head.

-Orton faces Bryan tonight

Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins come out for their match to no music and wearing suits. They take off the jackets and do a male stripper routine. Two jobbers get in the ring.

Reks & Hawkins vs. Two Jobbers

Cole says Reks & Hawkins have been trying to get noticed. They squash the jobbers for the win.

William Regal wishes Eve luck in her match in the back and Eve says she doesn't need it. Regal looks off into the distance and ponders, with hungry eyes, the time when he was the GM and the most powerful man in WWE. He tells Eve power is fleeting. Someone comes out and gives him bags of trash to take out.

Teddy Long is at ringside.

Eve vs. Kaitlyn: For a position in Booker T's administration.

Eve applies an armbar. Kaitlyn hits a back body-drop and hits a shoulderblock for 2. Eve drops her on the ropes but Kaitlyn rolls her up in a small package for 2. Kaitlyn fights off the apron and goes up top but Eve pulls her off. Eve hits a spinning neckbreaker for the win.

Winner by pin: Eve

Eve blows kisses at ringside and struts up the ramp.

Eve comes in Booker's office and says she has so many ideas to improve the show. Booker asks if she will get along with Long. Eve says yes and goes to take a shower.

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton

They lock-up and Orton hits a shoulderblock and Bryan backs off. Orton hits a dropkick but Bryan kicks out at 1 and goes out of the ring and has an intense shouting match in a fan's face. Orton hits a high back bodydrop back in the ring. Bryan takes out his knee. Bryan continues to work the knee.

Orton meets Bryan up top and brings him down with a Superplex. Both men are down. Orton drapes his arm and gets 2.

They trade shots and Bryan takes out the leg again. Orton moves in the corner and Bryan goes shoulder-first into the post. Orton shifts the momentum and hits a flurry. Orton goes for his ropes-DDT but Bryan counters and pulls him out of the ring. Orton sends him in to security wall. Bryan kicks the knee and sends Orton into the steel steps and gets 2 in the ring. Bryan lands several No Kicks but Orton ducks the last one and hits a neckbreaker for 2.

Orton hits his ropes-DDT from the corner and coils-up. Bryan counters the RKO with a No Lock attempt. He gets it. Kane's pyro goes off but he no-shows. Bryan is scared and distracted and he gets the RKO.

Winner by pin: Randy Orton

Kane comes out on the stage and smiles toward Bryan.

Santino has joined commentary.

Antonio Cesaro w/ Aksana vs. Zack Ryder

Tonight's word is "loser." The crowd chants "USA." Cesaro looks toward Santino. Cesaro hits a gut-wrench suplex and proceeds with stomps. Ryder makes a come-back and hits the Broski Boot in the corner. Cesaro drops him across the ropes and hits the Neutralizer for the win.

Winner by pin: Antonio Cesaro

Cesaro immediately pie-faces Santino at ringside. Cesaro pushes him into the table and Santino gets fired-up as Cesaro and Aksana walk up the ramp.

Cole says Michaels has indeed suffered a broken arm and other multiple contusions. They say he will not be at SummerSlam.

Del Rio makes his entrance. Y2J is attacked by Ziggler in the back with his briefcase. He rams a large cart into Y2J. Booker comes to his aid.

Del Rio laughs at what just happened. He tells Booker to come down and give him his match. Jericho comes out, holding his ribs.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Y2J

Del Rio gets some offense going and gets 2. He continues to focus on Jericho's ribs. Jericho mounts a comeback. Del Rio knocks him off the apron.

Del Rio is in charge in the ring. Y2J fights back and hits a Lionsault but he is hurt. Y2J gets 2. Del Rio hits headbutts but Jericho counters him and goes for the Walls and gets it. Del Rio fights out and kicks him off. Ziggler is there just in time to pull the ropes down so Jericho falls out. He sends Jericho back in and Del Rio hits a kick to the back of the head for the win.

Winner by pin: Del Rio

Del Rio applies a cross armbreaker on Y2J as Ziggler yells at him in the ring. Sheamus comes out to the rescue and fights with Del Rio. Del Rio escapes up the stands. Booker T comes out and asks what Sheamus is doing there. Sheamus says he wants his match reinstated. Booker tells him he's injured but Sheamus says he doesn't care. Del Rio looks on from the stands. Sheamus begs Booker for the match. Booker grants it.
